University of Vermont Faces Federal Investigation for Fostering ‘Severe Anti-Semitic Harassment’ on Campus

The Department of Education has opened a formal investigation into the University of Vermont over allegations several Jewish students have been "subjected to severe and persistent anti-Semitic harassment and discrimination."

A group of Jewish students who are remaining anonymous due to concerns for their safety say they have been targeted in a range of school settings merely for openly identifying themselves as Jewish. This includes Jewish students being kicked out of a support group for sexual assault victims, "online harassment against Jewish students by a Teaching Assistant," and attacks on the university's Hillel building, which supports Jewish life on campus.

 

The Education Department, which only investigates matters with substantial amounts of evidence, will review these incidents to determine if the University of Vermont "allowed a hostile environment to proliferate on its campus" in violation of Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which bans discrimination based on race and religion.

Those are just a handful of the things the school told all undergraduate students in a mandatory Title IX training session, according to materials reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.

The online training, which all undergraduates were required to complete in order to enroll in courses, includes a "Power and Control Wheel" to help students identify "harmful" conduct. Outside the wheel are attitudes that "contribute to an environment that perpetuates violence," a voiceover from the training states, including "sizeism and fatphobia," "cisheterosexism," "racism," "transphobia," "ageism," and "ableism."

Pérez was a star student—top of his class at Mexico’s Autonomous University of Baja California’s School of Medicine and Psychology. Seventy percent make students take a course on "diversity, inclusion, or cultural competence." And 79 percent require that all hiring committees receive "unconscious bias" training or include "equity advisors"—people whose job it is to ensure diversity among the faculty.

Those are just some of the findings from a new report by the Association of American Medical Colleges, which together with the American Medical Association accredits every medical school in the United States. The report, "The Power of Collective Action: Assessing and Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Efforts at AAMC Medical Schools," is based on a survey of 101 medical school deans—representing nearly two thirds of American medical schools—who were given a list of diversity policies and asked to indicate which ones they had implemented.

Eight-year-old shamed in Vermont school over 'pronouns'

In Vermont’s Randolph Elementary School last year, a third-grade boy was disciplined and made to apologize to a girl classmate who instructed those around her that she desired to be addressed by the pronouns “they” and “them.”  The boy was compelled to use the speech elected by the girl; not the other way around.  The boy is deprived of the choice of what pronouns of the English language he must employ -- these are determined in “gender theory” not by rules of grammar but of self-identity.  This is profoundly foolish, but is increasingly the fad at ideologically-polluted public schools.

The boy in question had remarked to another boy simply “That girl ran 15 laps.”  This was a verboten use of trans-English, and the girl promptly reported the boy to the language police.  Both boys missed recess awaiting the official verdict -- they were compelled to apologize to the biological girl, who self-identifies (for the moment) as “they.”
