Boston University has a ‘Condom Fairy’

Have you heard of the Condom Fairy? No? Well, unlike, say, the Tooth Fairy, the Condom Fairy actually exists. At least at Boston University. In fact, he/she/it/they just celebrated he/she/it/they’s ten-year anniversary!

The Condom Fairy program, according to a Campus Reform article, delivers “free condoms (both internal and external), lube, dental dams, [and] information about sexual health and consent” to students on and off BU’s campus. What’s more, each order includes a sticker depicting the program’s “tiny and sassy winged mascot.” Well, actually mascots, because, in 2022, the Condom Fairy program modernized, expanded, and morphed its erstwhile singular mascot into a “trio of gender-, race-, and body-diverse fairies.” How fun! Why have just one Condom Fairy when you could triple your diverse pleasure?! Does BU have a Vibrator Fairy, too?

Plato, Shakespeare, Locke, Adam Smith? The classics, economics, history, engineering? They never stood a chance against the Condom Fairy.

The Campus Reform report noted that “The original slogan from the Condom Fairy’s 2013 launch read, ‘Now flying wherever flies come undone.’” And now there is a squadron of Fairies!

Boston University’s Student Health Services (SHS) is in charge of the Condom Fairy program, and is also home to an “emergency contraception vending machine,” sponsored by “Students for Reproductive Freedom.” (Why not just rely on the Abortion Pill Fairy?):snip:

U. Alabama science professor resigns, cites climate alarmism, DEI mandates

Matthew Wielicki, an associate professor of geology sciences at the University of Alabama, will resign at the end of the spring semester, citing personal family matters but also a frustration with the politicization of the academy.

He first announced his resignation via a Twitter thread on Jan. 23, and subsequently told The College Fix in an interview that he grew increasingly frustrated with the profession due to growing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion mandates as well as climate alarmism.

Wielicki told The Fix via email he takes issue with the narrow scope that the sciences are constricted by with university and government funding priorities.

“The majority of funding within the earth sciences is climate-focused,” he said. “This means that those that don’t do climate science have to compete for fewer and fewer resources as so much is being funneled to climate science:snip:

'Plantifa'? - American Thinker

:snip:

A pair of graduate students at Washington State University believe “the world is facing a looming existential threat caused by exploitative habits and intentional human negligence.”

But enough about the Biden administration.

Just kidding. These students, of course, believe the imminent destruction of the planet is being brought on by Republicans and others who largely purport to believe in—gasp-- capitalism.

:snip:

:snip:

What does it entail? Why, it’s nothing less than guerrilla gardening! Optimally to be carried out by entire communities and incorporated into classroom lesson plans! The two “scholars” suggest that students engage in this “subversive and communal eco-justice approach to environmental degradation and inequity,” instead of practicing traditional gardening in “designated flower beds or defined community gardens.”

White mom fears public schools are grooming her black daughter to hate her

"Critical race theory has specific harms for families like mine because these kids are being groomed to believe and to think that white people are oppressors and that black people are oppressed," said Jill McLaughlin, a Minnesota mom and parental rights activist.

'Respect pronouns' bill at University of Houston challenged on First Amendment grounds

Student senator Mike Abel at the University of Houston successfully challenged the Student Government Association's (SGA) "Respect for Pronouns" bill that would have mandated the use of others members' preferred pronouns.

The bill also calls for "Name tags containing the proper pronouns will be given to every member of the Student Government Association" and it "strongly recommend[ed]" to list pronouns during Zoom meetings.

The SGA's Supreme Court is poised to rule in favor of Abel, determining that such legislation constituted a violation of the students' first amendment rights, Campus Reform reported Friday.:snip:

DEI is poisoning college campuses

College campuses are well known for political correctness. Nowadays, they are specifically known for so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. The stated purpose of these programs is to make people feel more included. But what happens if those programs are doing precisely the opposite?

Scott Yenor, a Washington Fellow for the Claremont Institute and a professor of political science at Boise State University, has produced a report on the effect that DEI has had on the campus of Texas A&M University, the 73,000-student university in College Station, Texas. In the last eight years, the university has leaned hard into its DEI programs — for example, requiring staff diversity training and instituting hate-reporting systems. Yenor's report shows these DEI programs have done the exact opposite of what they set out to accomplish.

In 2015, a survey performed by the university showed that 82% of black Aggies "agreed" or "strongly agreed" that they "belonged" at Texas A&M. By 2017, the number had dropped to just 79%, and then in the 2020 survey, that number was all the way down to 55%. A similar decline in feelings of belonging has occurred among Hispanic students, down from 88% to 76%, and white students, down from 92% to 82%. So thanks to DEI, everyone now feels less included.

This really shouldn't come as a shock. If you give black students the DEI mantra, telling them that they can never get a fair shake in life because all white people hate them and can never change, it isn't hard to see why they would suddenly start feeling less welcome. By the same token, if you tell all the white students that they are inherently, irredeemably racist simply by virtue of their skin color, again, a central tenet of DEI programs and their underlying critical race theory ideology, they also feel less welcome.:snip:

NYC teacher assigns genders and sexual preferences to video game characters for student club

A 9th grade teacher in New York shared a Power Point presentation with students which gave popular video game characters various genders and sexual identities.

Remy Elliott, who identifies as bi-sexual and polyamorous, now teaches 9th grade English for New York City Public Schools after previously teaching younger grades.

At an after school Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) club meeting, she presented the questionable Power Point to students and posted about it on social media, reports Fox News, which also says Elliott is certified as in the state under the name Jeremy William Elliott.

“Yoshi is a trans man. He is just living his best life with Berto, and his top surgery turned out amazing,” she goes on. “No scars whatsoever. We love that for him. Of course, that means that Berto is an ace trans girl.

“No surprises with Peach. She is a massive cis lesbian… Whenever she’s around Daisy, she just completely forgets how to speak.

“We’ve got Daisy [who is] hella bisexual, polyamorous… and she will ask your girlfriend out right in front of you.

“Mario… came out so long ago that most people forgot and he probably marched at Stonewall and he low-key says some transphobic stuff, but he means well.:snip:

Radical College Professor Admits to ‘Politically’ Targeting Students … ‘Shut Down’ the ‘Religious and Right-Conservative Kids’ … ‘Hardcore Trumpers are Probably F**king Racist’ … ‘Do Not Vote for this Mother f**ker’

  • Jeremy Tausch, Professor, Brooklyn College & Pratt Institute: “I’m in control. I have the authority and the depth of knowledge and experience…They’re kids and they oftentimes either don’t know any better or they’ve been influenced by their parents, and they never heard an alternate voice from a position of knowledge.”
  • Tausch: “It’s my job to be middle of the road—to not be on one side or the other politically. But you know, it’s hard not to be like, ‘Look man these mother f**king [Trump] people, they are out for you. These people will f**king kill you.”
  • Tausch: “I could say in my classroom, as forcefully as possible, ‘Do not vote for this mother f**ker [Trump] because you are voting for environmental destruction. Not just environmental destruction -- global destruction. That’s what your vote is for.’”
  • Tausch: “If you support Trump, if you are one of the hardcore Trumpers, you are probably a f**king racist. Probably a racist. If you are MAGA, you know, you’re probably a f**king racist, and that is about 25 percent of the population of the United States.”
  • Tausch: “The political right is going to f**king kill us. They are going to kill us.”
  • Tausch: “So, I get to say [in the classroom], ‘Look, the GOP and Republicans do not believe in climate change, and that’s f**king dangerous.’”
  • Tausch: “It’s hard for me to be politically apolitical in the classroom.”:snip:

Critical Race Theory Teaches Kids To Hate Each Other, And The Proof Is On The Playground

In mid-February 2023, administrators at an elementary school in Springfield, Ohio, called the police to intervene in a racially charged incident on the playground. According to the police report, a group of black students forced several white students to say “black lives matter” against their will.

Around the same time in Orlando, Florida, a teacher at Howard Middle School created and posted to his personal social media account a demeaning skit using students from his classroom. In it, white students bowed to their black classmates, feeding them snacks and fanning them. The teacher, now on administrative leave, captioned the video: “Black History Month. The shortest month of the Year.” Critical race theory is permeating public education across the country and aggravating racial hostilities, even among elementary school children.

At the end of February, sixth-grade teachers at Hunt Valley Elementary School in Fairfax County discussed heightened racial tensions with their students. There had been reports of racial slurs used on the playground. One teacher, in particular, told her students that the faculty instructs in detail about the living conditions of enslaved Africans to foster a sense of empathy among children. But it seems that the hyper-focus on racial differences in both primary and secondary education widens the racial chasm.

Across Fairfax County, elementary schools have replaced a standardized test for fourth-graders regarding Virginia’s colonial history with a critical race theory project. No longer are Fairfax County schools assessing students’ knowledge of Virginia’s settling and our nation’s founding. Rather, standards of learning have been reduced to intimate knowledge of the living conditions of different races. The project focuses in particular on the life of the white gentry versus enslaved Africans in the 1700s.

Aside from the critical race theory lessons at all levels in Fairfax County Public Schools, student groups work with the district’s several “equity officers” to present racially divisive material to their peers. On Jan. 30, 2023, students at West Springfield High School (WSHS) were forced to watch a disturbingly racist video on microaggressions, in the name of equity education. In the video, white people were illustrated as cartoon mosquitos taking bites out of nonwhite people with their microaggressions. In response, at the end of the video, the nonwhite people eventually exterminated them with flame throwers.:snip:

America’s Crisis is the Universities

Crime, treason, riots, open borders and our other threats are coming out of campuses.

The Duke of Wellington reportedly stated that the battle of Waterloo was won on the fields of Eton College. George Orwell countered that, “Probably the battle of Waterloo was won on the playing-fields of Eton, but the opening battles of all subsequent wars have been lost there.”

America’s battles against foreign and domestic enemies have been lost in our ‘Etons’, our schools and universities which have turned their graduates against the country and its values.

The source of our social and political crises is the destruction of our educational institutions through a successful fifty-year effort by radical activists to purge conservatives and patriots from American academic faculties. This was followed by a massive reconstruction of the academic curriculum and the transformation of universities into one-party indoctrination and recruitment centers for the anti-American left.:snip:

Wisconsin School District Hangs Pride, Trans Flags For ‘Day Of Silence’ Activity

  • A Wisconsin school district displayed a variety of transgender and sexual orientation flags including the “gender fluid flag,” “lesbian pride flag,” “pride flag,” “bisexual flag” and “queer people of color flag,” all signed by students and teachers within the community, in its library, according to documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.
  • The flags are a part of the district’s celebration of its annual “Day of Silence Activity” where students remain completely silent at school in an effort to “honor and bring awareness to the issues individuals in the LGBTQ community face.”
  • “Moms for Liberty Wisconsin is getting tips on a regular basis, this is happening everywhere and must be challenged. School Librarians, and the administrators who defend them, cannot be allowed to view themselves as a subversive force in a school,” Scarlett Johnson, head of Ozaukee, Wisconsin’s Moms For Liberty chapter, told the DCNF.:snip:

‘Restorative Justice’ Is Killing American Classrooms

As record numbers of fistfights are erupting amid a behavior crisis in the American public education system, more schools are attempting to use restorative justice—even though that process often makes behavioral problems worse.

Restorative justice is a remediation theory that suggests students respond better to affirmation-based conversations in which an adult de-escalates any problem situation by calmly discussing the students’ feelings about the problem until everyone agrees.

Restorative justice relies on student investment and commitment to say, “I am willing to do this.”

SUNY Albany protesters march, dance and destroy Bible to shut down conservative speaker Ian Haworth

New York college students aggressively protested a conservative campus speaker event this week that argued that free speech is being destroyed on college campuses.

The State University of New York at Albany students marched, chanted, danced and even destroyed a Bible in an effort to shut down Turning Point USA’s seminar, which was organized by a student group and headlined by conservative Ian Haworth.

“And like clockwork, some deranged protesters showed up and used the heckler’s veto to try and shut down the event,” Haworth wrote in a tweet.

Videos show the students storming the event in an attempt to shut it down.

Their chants ranged from “this is what free speech looks like” and “trans rights are human rights” to “f–ck you, fascists” and “Ian sucks.”:snip:

White privilege courses now mandated at more colleges, such as Bates College

Similarly, Northern Arizona University now requires students to take  four diversity courses to graduate, all rooted in left-wing “critical theory.”
