I have been catching glimpses of MSNBC's coverage of the 'strike' of fast food workers. One girl they interviewed said she didn't earn enough to pay rent and utilities, or buy her meds for diabetes or her heart condition. Couldn't buy shoes for her kids. She was really pouring it on. Asked how much she got in food stamps..$600 month. The anchor didn't go any further on what else she got from the government. She thought it was so unfair how little MickyD's paid, etc. 'How long have you worked for them?' "Ten years". Uhhhhhh, little overdue for looking for a better job???

And Obama will probably give another speech today about income inequality.

Girl, 11, barred from selling mistletoe near outdoor market

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 3 (UPI) -- An Oregon 11-year-old trying to raise money for braces by selling mistletoe said a market security worker stopped her from selling in a public area.

Madison Root, who chopped the mistletoe herself at her uncle's farm in Newberg and hand-wrapped the decorations with red bows, said she and her father took her wares to Skidmore Fountain in downtown Portland Saturday morning in an attempt to raise money to pay for her $4,800 braces, KATU-TV, Portland, reported Tuesday.

However, the area around the fountain also hosts the Portland Saturday Market, and Root and her father were approached by a private security guard for the market when they attempted to sell their mistletoe.

Obama Flubs Inequality Message

12/5/13

President Obamas address yesterday on inequality was a concerted effort to shift the conversation away from Obamacare, at least until the implementation is far enough along to be repeal-proof. Whether or not it succeeds, the speech is another sign that ideological arguments over the causes of social immobility are heating up. Whichever narrative wins over an increasingly attentive public is likely to influence policies ranging from tax code reform to social welfare spending, so its worth parsing Obamas version carefully.

In this speech and throughout his presidency, Obama has asserted that obstacles to upward mobility are a serious threat to American society, and that those obstacles are almost entirely economic. He points to fallout from the transition from manufacturing to a service economy or the erosion of the safety net in the 21st century, and urges government interventions to redress them.

Obama, and those who think like him, focus so much on socio-economic causes of inequality that they tend to overlook the impact of cultural factors like the breakdown of the family and the decline of strong community institutions......(Snip)

Ladies! If you have your concealed carry license.....and you should [iMO]......do not do this:

ladies-im-afraid-of-28.jpg

It's called "printing" and let's everyone know that your firearm is upside down....not easily retrieved......and next to the outside wall of your purse.

Technically, it might also be called "brandishing" by LEO's....and a cause for your arrest & eventual loss of your CCW.
