Fit to print, apparently: New York Times declares return of female pubic hair

Fresh off of last week’s half-a-nipple on the front page — in color and above the fold, The (newly pornographic) New York Times announced this week that bountiful pubic hair is making a triumphant comeback.

“A new look down under” has arrived for women, America’s paper of record proclaims. That new look is unruly and undomesticated.

“After years of razors, wax and lasers reducing pubic hair to the bare minimum — or nothing at all — there’s a return to a more natural state.”Scissors-32x32.png

Duck Dynasty Christmas album outsells Streisand, Miley Cyrus, frowns on long troop deployments

The Duck Dynasty family's new Christmas album, “Duck the Halls,” is winning attention not just because it is the No. 5 top seller on Amazon's music charts, beating Barbra Streisand, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, but because it lends a sympathetic shoulder to families of soldiers on long deployments to Afghanistan and other outposts.

Mixed in with the funny songs about Rednecks and beards, the “Robertson Family Christmas” album also includes one titled “Camouflage and Christmas Lights,” sung by Reed Robertson, son of Duck Dynasty stars Jase and Missy Robertson. Referring to a soldier long deployed overseas, Reed Robertson sings, "I don't think Jesus meant for it to be like this."Scissors-32x32.png

How inane and disgusting is a society that has trends for managing things that mean so little. Really? Ugh.

Mistake 2. Read the comments at Red State. So now this is a left right issue?

Note to people on the web: I don't care what you do or like or don't do or don't like in your most private moments. Please don't tell me.

I'm about ready to go back to not being able to say the word pregnant over the airwaves! Ugh.

@clearvision. I see on Fox that the House Judiciary Committee is having a meeting this morning on whether the Executive Branch is over- reaching on their powers. This is partially about him changing the ACA by fiat, which we discussed here a few weeks ago.

Last night Greta had some "law expert" guy on who agreed that several actions by the president were unconstitutional and overreaching.

Let the games begin!!!

@SrWoodchuck You BAD!!!!!!

One morning when I was driving to my high school with several of my friends... I spotted a Lighthouse for the Blind step van that had run off the road and was sitting nose down in a ditch. Too bad this was many moons before the days of phone cams!

Needless to say that my buddies and I had a pretty good "chuckle" that morning.

Nasa's Hubble telescope finds signs of water on five distant planets

Nasa has reported that “faint signatures of water” have been found in the atmospheres of five planets outside our solar system, marking a further development in the search for planets capable of supporting alien life.

The presence of atmospheric water on exoplanets has been reported before, but Nasa says that this study is the first to “ conclusively measures and compare” the light signatures that denote the presence of water.

"We're very confident that we see a water signature for multiple planets," said Avi Mandell, a planetary scientist at NASA and the lead author of a paper, published today in Astrophysical Journal, detailing the new findings.

"This work really opens the door for comparing how much water is present in atmospheres on different kinds of exoplanets, for example hotter versus cooler ones."Scissors-32x32.png

Japanese World War Two super-submarine discovered off the coast of Hawaii

Scientists have accidentally discovered a wrecked super-submarine off the coast of Hawaii that had been missing for more than 65 years.

One of the jewels of the Japanese fleet in the Second World War, it was a technological marvel, and among the largest pre-nuclear submarines ever built.

Yet despite measuring 400 feet (122 metres) long, the “Sen-Toku” class I-400 had remained a mystery to military historians since it was sunk by US forces protecting the Panama Canal.

Divers stumbled across the mega-sub some 2,300 feet beneath the surface of the Pacific Ocean. It was among the first to be able to carry aircraft and could travel one-and-a-half times around the world without needing to refuel.Scissors-32x32.png

3,700-year-old wine cellar held booze you might not want to drink

Archaeologists have unearthed one of the oldest and largest wine cellars in the near-East, dating back to approximately 3,700 years ago.

Packed with 40 jars, 3 feet high each, it had a modern-day capacity of 2,000 liters, or about 3,000 bottles of wine. (You can see the jars in the gallery above).

Sounds like the living wasn't too bad in 1700 B.C.

The cellar was discovered in northern Israel on the grounds of a vast palatial estate that was once home to the ruling household of a northern Canaanite city.

Using organic residue analysis, the archaeologists were able to determine that the wine in the jugs was sweetened with honey and infused with juniper berries, mint, cinnamon and myrtle.Scissors-32x32.png

@NCTexan!

In one of my previous business entities [Remodel/Tenant Finish] I worked for several investment companies, that owned commercial buildings, including apartment complexes. I would "go through" a unit before it leased again.....and take care of whatever small or large items needed to be done. This included replacing all light bulbs. They purchased their light bulbs exclusively from a non-profit called, "Light Bulbs for the Blind." I used to joke with the Investment Company manager about that........

BTW: That Investment Company manager....a young woman.....would have a line item audit, of any invoice over $1,000.00......but if I gave her 4 invoices for $400.00 each.....no problems. She was pretty cool though......we'd have our business meetings at a nice restaurant....and the Investment Company always picked up the tab. If I had to work on Saturdays....she'd buy a 6-pack of my favorite beer & leave it in the fridge of the locked & empty unit. I had to serve notices to vacate & even evict some tenants.....standard charge was $100.00 & a case of beer. [Before I was a wino.]

According to Fox just now, the thieves were exposed to the nuclear material. Easy solution. Wait until dark and look for Mexicans who are glowing.
