Officials say a second call was recorded between the suspects' mother and a man under FBI investigation living in southern Russia. snip The conversations are significant because, had they been revealed earlier, there might have been enough evidence for the FBI to initiate a more thorough investigation of the Boston bombing suspects' family. This week, we have witnessed the remarkable spectacle of HHS Secretary Janet Napolitano asserting before that same body that the administration, sworn to uphold the laws duly passed by that august body, has the right to pick and choose which to enforce, and then Eric Holder telling a Latino group that illegal aliens have a civil right to US citizenship. Until recently, it had been thought that actual citizens had an actual right to expect that the executive branch would enforce the laws that their elected representatives passed on their behalf, whether or not they happened to find those laws pleasing to their exquisitely anaesthetized sensibilities. Our protectors in the fourth estate are not alarmed by this rather striking revolution in our understanding of how our government is supposed to function, given the charter that we quaintly call our Constitution. The President, a sneering pagan* last seen invoking God to bless the enterprise of slaughtering babies on a heavy industrial scale—though he believes in no God but himself yet calls himself a Christian for purposes of obfuscation and to demean the concept of Christianity, and because this is the kind of behavior that sneering pagans such as Obama get off on—addressed the nation on radio today to say that the sequester that he cynically suggested and then signed into law must be rescinded. The sequester was imposed after years of Obama's own nose-thumbing at the peremptory shall of the former Constitution, which declares that it is the obligation of the President to submit a budget annually to Congress. He is enraged that any control at all should be set on his discretion to bankrupt America, just as he was enraged at the momentary failure of his attempt to get an 'assault weapons' ban imposed through Congress, in contravention of that much-abused document, and declared that he would seek means of circumventing the will of the people, as expressed by their representatives. This is a man who, while campaigning for his first term, promised to go through the budget line by line in the process of halving the total deficit within the compass of his first term. Instead, he and his functionaries advertise welfare benefits to foreigners, assuring them that their status as non-citizens shall be no impediment to their receiving them...
