Maine public school pays drag performer $1,000 to speak to LGBT students

A Maine public high school paid a gay drag performer $1,000 to speak to minors at a workshop, according to Freedom of Access Act (FOAA) documents. 

Drag performer Dominick Varney, also known as "Priscilla Poppycocks," spoke to Bangor High School students on May 4 as part of the school’s "Support, Educate, Empower" series to "empower" LGBT students. The school confirmed to Fox News Digital that Varney did not attend in drag.

The school paid Varney and another performer, whose name was redacted from the FOAA documents, $1,000 each out of the school’s $15,000 grant from the Nellie Mae Education Foundation, which aims to "advance racial equity in public education," according to its website. :snip:

State’s First Elected Transgender Representative Charged With Sexual Exploitation Of Children 

New Hampshire’s first elected transgender representative was hit with federal charges for the sexual exploitation of children Tuesday, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Stacie Marie Laughton was charged with aiding and abetting in addition to one count of child exploitation in relation to former intimate partner Lindsay Groves, according to a DOJ press release. Laughton and Groves allegedly had over 10,000 text messages discussing and transferring explicit photographs that Groves took while employed as a daycare worker at Creative Minds daycare, a forensic review revealed from Groves’ cellphone, according to the DOJ. 

Laughton was arrested on June 23 on child porn charges after Nashua police were alerted about a juvenile matter and spoke to individuals who allegedly indicated Laughton distributed explicit images of children

Wisconsin Parent Files Lawsuit Against District For Refusing to Provide Copy of Transgender Middle School Teacher’s Speech to Students

Orchestra teacher Jacob Puccio at Northstar Middle School in Eau Claire told his students he would transition to a woman and asked to be called “Ms. Puccio.”

With help from the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty, the parent, Leah Buchman, alleges in the lawsuit that parents had requested the speech, and the district refused to comply.

According to WILL, on the morning of June 5, 2023, the second-to-last day of the school year, “all orchestra students were required to report to the orchestra room during homeroom. Once there, they found orchestra teacher Jacob Puccio, a school counselor, and the District’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion director, Dang Yang.”

The state's Department of Education on Wednesday passed a series of controversial amendments to its equity requirements, including one that compels schools to separate gender-specific sex ed classes based on a student's chosen gender identity. While schools are allowed to offer combined sex ed classes, the department acknowledges that some lessons on "human sexuality" are "conducted in separate developmentally appropriate sessions." Now, a biological male can attend sessions that pertain to biological females, and vice versa.

Lawyers representing Maryland’s largest school district recently argued in court that opt-out policies that ‘allow’ parents to exempt their kids from gender and sexuality lessons undermine “specific goals the district is trying to advance.”

Incredibly, coming as it did from lawyers representing the government, that statement is unquestionably accurate, although not in the way that the schools would like us to believe.

The Montgomery County Public School District recently reversed its original opt-out policy that ‘gave’ parents (and their kids) the right to refuse lessons they considered inappropriate or at odds with their religious views.

According to a story in the National Review, the district now strategically considers its gender and sexuality lessons to be part of its ‘English Language Arts curriculum,’ since Maryland law only requires schools to allow opt-out choices for health curriculum. And rightly placed they are. Gender and sexuality studies have much more relevance to ‘English Language Arts’ than they do with health, right? (“Romeo and Juliet Swap Genders?”)
