Argyle58
Early exit polls have Virginia government workers 51% for Romney.... Well, they have worked for the Obama admin for 4 years. Yes, but government workers usually vote Dem because they tend to make more money during Democrat administrations. If they are voting for Romney, that is a big thing.

saveliberty
Pennsylvania: Romney’s Inchon Landing? By John Fund November 6, 2012 12:00 P.M. In 1950, during the Korean War, General Douglas MacArthur launched a truly daring military maneuver — outflanking the enemy and making a sudden amphibious landing behind North Korean lines at Inchon. The invasion was almost a complete surprise, forcing the North Koreans to flee inland. Within days MacArthur had recaptured the capital of Seoul and changed the entire conflict. Mitt Romney is attempting a political equivalent of an Inchon landing in Pennsylvania, a state that hasn’t voted Republican for president since 1988. His campaign and allied groups have poured in $12 million in last-minute advertising and get-out-the-vote efforts.
Pepper
From NPR Historical note: With NPR and others news outlets projecting a win in Indiana for Republican Mitt Romney, that means President Obama didn't "flip" that state into his win column as he did in 2008.
saveliberty
BEST OF THE WEB TODAY November 6, 2012 The Case for Obama Re-election would ensure he is accountable for the mess he inherits from himself. We spent last night at the Wriston Lecture, the Manhattan Institute's annual gala. As you can imagine, at the reception all anyone wanted to talk about was the election, which turned out to be the next day. As the Manhattan Institute is a conservative think tank, everyone we talked to was hoping Mitt Romney would win. But the range of moods ran the spectrum, from a guy confidently predicting a Romney landslide to any number who were anxiously expecting Barack Obama to win.
