Ohio GOP Introduces Bill to Ban 'Gender Identity' Agenda in Elementary Schools K-3

-- In a move that mirrors Florida's legislature, two Republican lawmakers in Ohio have introduced a bill that would prohibit the teaching of "gender identity" or "sexual orientation" to children in kindergarten through third grade, kids generally ages 5 through 8. The legislation also would prohibit the use of instructional materials that are "divisive or inherently racist" in grades K-12.

Florida's Parental Rights in Education bill was signed into law on March 28. The Ohio bill, H.B. 616, was introduced on April 4 by Ohio State Reps. Jean Schmidt (R-District 65) and Mike Loychik (R-District 63).  :snip:

The Left’s War on Childhood

From Greta Thunberg to children put on puberty blockers, the victims of the war on childhood are everywhere. They show up at environmental or gun control rallies holding up giant signs in their little hands, they’re indoctrinated at school to enlist as child soldiers for the latest cause.

Adults tell them that unless they save the world, they won’t even live long enough to grow up.

At the heart of the exchange of political buzzwords of the culture war is a simple question about whether childhood should exist. The only way to save the world is by politicizing childhood and turning children into little adults worrying about microaggressions, experimenting with sexuality, and fearing that the world will end.

Trans First Grade Teacher Claims Doctors 'Guess' a Baby's Gender When They Are Born

A first-grade teacher at Brooke Charter Schools in Massachusetts alleged in a zoom call with students in kindergarten through second grade that a doctor may "guess" whether a newborn baby is a boy or a girl and that the doctor made the correct assumption if the baby turns out to be cisgender.

 

According to a video clip posted to social media Sunday by The Libs of TikTok Twitter account, the educator described themself as transgender and explained their definition of "cisgender" and "transgender."

"When babies are born, the doctor looks at them and they make a guess about whether the baby is a boy or girl based on what they look like," the teacher said. "And most of the time, that guess is 100 percent correct. There are no issues whatsoever."

Hope Rawlson of the Institute for Religion & Democracy reported Tuesday that the Pride worship service was designed to proclaim “God’s acceptance and support for LGBTQ relationships.” The bizarre service was the brainchild of Divinity Pride, a Duke student group that “affirms the dignity, faithfulness, and strength of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and gender/sexuality non-conforming Christians! We facilitate educative dialogues for the whole community, and we are here to support anyone who is reconciling their gender/sexuality and faith, facing persecution, or desiring a safe space.” They succeeded: the Pride worship service was plenty safe for men who think they’re women, and vice versa.

Two West Coast States Teach Students There Are 'Many Ways to Express Gender'

Washington state and Oregon public school students as young as five-years-old have been receiving instruction on different topics related to gender identity and expression, including the idea that "there are many ways to express gender."

 

The Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction's "Health Education Glossary" defines "gender" as a "social construct" that is based on "emotional, behavioral and cultural characteristics attached to a person's assigned biological sex." 

The OSPI's health education standards for all public schools, which were adopted in 2016, require kindergarteners and first-graders to be taught that "there are many ways to express gender" and students in second and third grade must learn that "there is a range of gender roles and expression."

But this week I read your piece “Against the ‘Groomer’ Smear,” and my heart sank. 

 

‘Groomer’ Isn’t Just a Smear

I read every word hoping I could find a way to agree with your perspective, and in some areas, I could. I was tracking with you on some of the things you had to say about Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson and the problematic nature of some of the ambiguous text in Florida House Bill 1557. You raised some good points, and I hope people consider them.

But then you got to the part about sexual grooming in today’s public schools. You called the claims of grooming “absurd.” You mocked the people making them. You spelled out, in vivid detail, the components of true sexual grooming, and you declared, in no uncertain terms, that this is not happening through today’s school curriculum.

I don’t know how else to say this, but, Mr. French, you are wrong. I don’t know if maybe you’re just so frustrated with the right’s unwillingness to contend with the rot in our own house that it’s rendered you unable to consider the possibility that any of our expressed concerns could be rooted in legitimacy, or what. But I can tell you that your choice to use your platform and influence to perpetuate this type of ignorance is devastating to those of us who’ve spent our entire lives defending kids from the specific types of grooming you refuse to acknowledge.

 

By way of explanation, I spent the first 10 years of my life being groomed by a pedophile. I am intimately familiar with the tactics and methods, all of which are brazenly present in much of today’s curriculum. I’ve also spent the past seven years on the frontlines of the great sexual identity debate, fielding horror story after horror story from parents, teachers, therapists, and the poor souls whose lives and bodies have been devastated by this insidious ideology.
