This is what tough women do!

Woman gives birth, fights off bees, starts wildfire in Northern California

Joseph Serna and Veronica Rocha

June 30 2015

A woman fought off bees, started a fire and survived on apples -- all after giving birth in a lonely stretch of Northern California forest, she told a Bay Area TV station. The woman, Amber Pangborn, 35, of Oroville, made a hasty decision to take an unfamiliar shortcut while driving to her parents’ house after going into labor Thursday. Instead, she got lost.

“I thought we were going to die,” she told KCRA-TV. “And there was no cell service, there was no ... there was nothing.” But Pangborn’s baby wouldn’t wait and she had no choice but to give birth alone. She named her daughter Marisa.

And then came the bees and mosquitoes. “I tried to not get them to sting her,” Pangborn told KCRA. The bees wanted the placenta, she said with a chuckle. She was stung while defending her daughter, she said.

By Saturday, Pangborn’s desperation reached a fever pitch. “I was just there at the end, thinking, 'Oh my God." I wasn’t sure if we were going to actually get out of there,” she said. Pangborn started a fire in a desperate attempt to summon help, but the flames quickly grew out of control.

“Like, the whole side of the mountain caught on fire. I was looking at Marisa and was like, ‘I think Mommy just started a forest fire,’” she said.

CHRONIC FATIGUE BREAKTHROUGH OFFERS HOPE FOR MILLIONS

.

http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg22730283.000-chronic-fatigue-breakthrough-offers-hope-for-millions.html#.VZX8UOfLCf4

.

Now there is hope of a breakthrough. Researchers in Norway have been trialling a drug normally used to knock out white blood cells in people with lymphoma and rheumatoid arthritis. Two thirds of the people who took it experienced major remission of CFS symptoms, essentially returning to normal life, with bursts of vitality unthinkable while they were ill (see "Antibody wipeout relieves symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome").

.

The discovery – which sprang from a serendipitous observation – offers more than just the promise of a much-needed treatment. It also suggests that the symptoms are somehow caused by antibodies originally produced to fight off an infection. The researchers speculate that they might disrupt blood flow, leaving muscles drained of energy.

.

If correct, this brings the scientific story full circle. CFS was initially suspected to be a "post-viral" syndrome – the lingering after-effects of an infection with Epstein-Barr. More importantly, it could offer people diagnosed with CFS both physical relief and psychological closure.

GENE THERAPY WORKS IN CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOR THE FIRST TIME

.

http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn27832-gene-therapy-works-in-cystic-fibrosis-for-the-first-time.html#.VZX2iufLCf4

.

And... breathe. Twenty six years after the gene responsible for cystic fibrosis was identified, researchers have shown that people with the lung-damaging condition can benefit from gene therapy.

.

The improvement on lung function is small – just 3.7 per cent compared with a placebo group – but it validates the decades that researchers have spent trying to find a way to put healthy copies of the faulty gene into the lung cells of people with cystic fibrosis.

.

. . .

.

"We only delivered about a teaspoon of the treatment, and the possibility of being able to increase the dose to see a greater effect in more patients is very exciting."

GOOD MORNING WAKE-UP SPRITZER

http://www.thankyourbody.com/good-morning-wake-spritzer/

.

Smell, or even the lack of, can change our perception of people.

.

In the same way, smell can also change our perception of situations. Smell can change our outlook.

.

Like if you’re away from home feeling detached and the smell of vanilla cookies makes you feel like a child at home.

.

Or if you’re cooped up all day at work and you catch a whiff of freshly cut grass outside the window and it transports you to summer in the backyard, refreshing you.

.

Or if you’re weary, tired, and aching and the bite of peppermint pokes at your mind and perks you up.

.

Smell can change us.

.

. . .

.

Essential Oils:

1-2 drops Patchouli (I used one; I didn’t want the strong patchouli scent to cover up the initial hit of the top notes)

2 drops Bergamot

4 drops Lemongrass

3 drops Orange

4 drops Lemon

3 drops Peppermint

HOMEOPATHY FOR MALARIA STUDIES

.

http://homeopathyplus.com.au/homeopathy-for-malaria-studies/

.

Summary: Malaria causes significant death and disease in countries where it is endemic. Malaria parasites have developed increasing resistance to pharmaceutical drugs used to treat or prevent them. Recent studies from Kenya suggest that homeopathy has an important role to play in the control of this disease.

.

Researchers at the 2014 GIRI Meeting in Rome presented a conference paper on 3 studies on homeopathy for malaria.

.

The first two were conducted in 2013-14 and the third, still in progress, will be completed in 2015.

.

Malaria-positive participants from the first two studies were treated with homeopathy. All who attended followup, except for one, subsequently tested negative for the malaria parasite.

.

The third study in which results from the homeopathic treatment and the pharmaceutical Coartem treatment, will be compared, is currently in progress. Once completed, the results of all three studies will be published.

NATURAL TOOTHACHE REMEDIES

.

http://blogs.naturalnews.com/natural-toothache-remedies/

.

. . .

.

Water and Non-Iodized Salt or Whiskey
The first remedy for toothaches and tooth pain is a mixture of water and non-iodized salt. Usually only one to two tablespoons is necessary for every half cup of water. Simply mix the non-iodized salt into a glass of water and stir thoroughly. Once dissolved swish and spit repeatedly. The non-iodized salt works to prevent infection around the area of the tooth. Repeat this step three to five times daily for at least a few days. Another remedy that can be used as an alternative or in conjunction to the water and non-iodized salt remedy is the whiskey remedy. Simply swish and spit a small amount of whiskey as to help prevent additional infection around the tooth and to provide numbing relief from pain.

.

. . .

.

Peppermint Leaves

.
Peppermint leaves are one of the oldest remedies that provide comfort from toothache and tooth pain. All that is needed is a small amount of peppermint leaves. Simply take a small amount of peppermint leaves and directly apply them to the tooth experiencing pain and discomfort. Chew on the peppermint leaves for three to five minutes twice daily. The peppermint leaves will act as a medicinal herb as they are consistent with anti-inflammatory properties.

.

Clove and Vanilla Extract

.
Clove and vanilla extract are both a great way to providing pain relief and a numbing sensation to the tooth or teeth that are experiencing pain and discomfort. However, only a very small quantity of clove or vanilla extract should be used as too much is capable of causing permanent nerve damage. Simply take a small amount of clove or vanilla extract and apply to a Q-Tip. Apply the Q-Tip directly to the tooth or teeth. Allow the extract to wipe over the tooth and gums as to provide the most relief.

.

As always if pain worsens immediately seek professional medical attention. However, if any of the age-old natural and organic remedies work share this information with friends and family that may be in need of such news.

SLEEP POSTURE: BETTER PM = BETTER AM

.

http://tweakfit.com/sleep-posture-pm

.

Just because you are asleep does not mean your body is not suffering from poor ergonomics. During the day we all try to be conscious of how we sit or pick things up, but what if you could make sure that your body was properly resting all night long? Millions of Americans suffer from sleep deprivation with work productivity taking a hit from yawning employees that can’t stay alert, make good decisions, focus on tasks or even manage a friendly mood at the office. A good night sleep can work wonders to solve those problems and can even improve your metabolism (see the working man’s weight loss tips).

.

. . .

.

Side sleepers: Foetus, Log & Yearner.

.

1. Your pillow should rest comfortably taking up the space between your shoulder, neck, head and the bed. When your pillow is the right size, your head should rest comfortably allowing your neck muscles to fully relax. Your cervical spine will thank you if there is no rotation or lateral shearing happening in your neck from having a pillow that is too flat or too fluffy.

.

2. To keep your lower back happy, place a pillow between your knees, aiming to keep your knees about hip distance apart and slightly bent. The best would be to have a pillow that supported your ankles as well to keep neutral rotation of the hips in sidelying.

.

3. If you have a narrow waist, try rolling up a towel to place in the space between your waist and the bed. You can also hug a pillow to support your shoulder.

.

Do double up a flat pillow, and put it in the case folded so that it stays in this shape and you don’t have to struggle with your pillow at night.

THE EMERGENCE OF ORWELLIAN NEWSPEAK & THE DEATH OF FREE SPEECH

.

https://www.rutherford.org/publications_resources/john_whiteheads_commentary/the_emergence_of_orwellian_newspeak_and_the_death_of_free_speech

.

By John W. Whitehead

.

.

“If you don’t want a man unhappy politically, don’t give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none. Let him forget there is such a thing as war. If the government is inefficient, top-heavy, and tax-mad, better it be all those than that people worry over it…. Give the people contests they win by remembering the words to more popular songs or the names of state capitals or how much corn Iowa grew last year. Cram them full of noncombustible data, chock them so damned full of ‘facts’ they feel stuffed, but absolutely ‘brilliant’ with information. Then they’ll feel they’re thinking, they’ll get a sense of motion without moving. And they’ll be happy, because facts of that sort don’t change.” ― Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

.

How do you change the way people think? You start by changing the words they use.

.

In totalitarian regimes—a.k.a. police states—where conformity and compliance are enforced at the end of a loaded gun, the government dictates what words can and cannot be used. In countries where the police state hides behind a benevolent mask and disguises itself as tolerance, the citizens censor themselves, policing their words and thoughts to conform to the dictates of the mass mind.

.

Even when the motives behind this rigidly calibrated reorientation of societal language appear well-intentioned—discouraging racism, condemning violence, denouncing discrimination and hatred—inevitably, the end result is the same: intolerance, indoctrination and infantilism.

.

It’s political correctness disguised as tolerance, civility and love, but what it really amounts to is the chilling of free speech and the demonizing of viewpoints that run counter to the cultural elite.

.

As a society, we’ve become fearfully polite, careful to avoid offense, and largely unwilling to be labeled intolerant, hateful, closed-minded or any of the other toxic labels that carry a badge of shame today. The result is a nation where no one says what they really think anymore, at least if it runs counter to the prevailing views. Intolerance is the new scarlet letter of our day, a badge to be worn in shame and humiliation, deserving of society’s fear, loathing and utter banishment from society.

THE TOP 10 STRANGEST CANADIAN UFO REPORTS.

The Top 10 Strangest Canadian UFO Reports

In honour of Canada Day, I hereby present:

The “Top 10” Strangest Canadian UFO Reports

.

Canadian UFO researchers and investigators were polled for their personal picks of the most remarkable Canadian cases of the past century (or so). They are, in chronological order:

.

Ottawa, Ontario February 15, 1915
A “phantom invasion” of unusual aerial objects caused enough panic throughout the National Capital Region that the lights on Parliament Hill were extinguished in order to prevent targeting by the “enemy.”

.

Gander, Newfoundland February 10, 1951
A US Navy Transport plane was reported to have nearly collided with a giant circular orange object that almost literally flew circles around the American aircraft as it flew between Iceland and Newfoundland.

.

Shirley’s Bay, Ontario August 8, 1954
Wilbert Smith, a Defence Department engineer, set up a “flying saucer detection station” at a government facility. On this date, his instruments recorded a large magnetic disturbance overhead, which Smith believed to be from an alien craft.

.

Fort Macleod, Alberta August 23, 1956
RCAF Squadron Leader Robert Childerhose and his flight lieutenant were attempting to set a cross-Canada speed record in their Sabre jet when they observed and photographed a bright oval object near their plane at an altitude of 36,000 feet.

.

Falcon Lake, Manitoba May 20, 1967
Weekend prospector Stefan Michalak was burned by a saucer-shaped object which had landed near him. Later radioactivity at the site was considered high enough to consider closing the Provincial park entirely. Despite investigations by American and Canadian officials, the case was listed as “unexplained” by the United States Air Force.

.

Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia October 4, 1967

USING ESSENTIAL OILS SAFELY

.

http://www.learningabouteos.com/index.php/2013/08/05/using-essential-oils-safely-cheat-sheet/

.

.

. . .

.

Essential oils are very concentrated substances and are not without risk regardless of quality. Example: when used internally, Eucalyptus is deadly even in small amounts, as is Wintergreen.

.

. . .

.

Properly diluting essential oils provides a measure of safety against topical irritation, sensitivity, photosensitivity, and sensitization.

.

. . .

.

Carrier oils can enhance therapeutic action of essential oils, yet have a limited shelf life. Don’t pre-mix large batches where the carrier oil will go bad before you use it up.

.

. .

.

Topical application is not ideal for every situation. Inhalation is under-rated and very effective.

. . .

.

Pregnant women need to be especially careful when using essential oils, as some oils are never okay to use during pregnancy.

.

Children are especially vulnerable to the strength of essential oils and much care should be given as consequences can be harsh. Treat essential oils like you would any other powerful medicine and keep them out of the reach of children.

FIVE EVERYDAY FOODS THAT FIGHT INFLAMMATION

.

http://www.naturalnews.com/050259_inflammation_pain_relief_healthy_food.html#

.

Wednesday, July 01, 2015 by: Sandeep Godiyal

.

(NaturalNews) Inflammation, especially chronic, low-level inflammation, is a problem for people all over the United States. Not only does it manifest itself with problems like rheumatoid arthritis or Crohn's disease but the medical profession is linking it to serious health issues like diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer. There are many medications, both prescription and over-the-counter, which have been designed to specifically help to reduce inflammation throughout the body. However, all of these medications come with unwanted side effects, including stomach ulcers and other digestive problems as well as damage to the liver.

.

. . .

.

Matcha
Matcha is a powdered form of green tea which is incredibly rich in antioxidant compounds. These compounds also have anti-inflammatory properties and they are particularly good for those with arthritis, as they can also promote the health of the cartilage in the joints. (2)

.

Broccoli
Broccoli, like other cruciferous vegetables, is a rich source of sulfur-based compounds that have also been known to reduce inflammation. They, too, are great for conditions like arthritis because these sulfur compounds block the action of an enzyme linked to joint damage and destruction. (3)

.

Cherries
While all berries are incredibly healthy, cherries are particularly good for those with chronic inflammatory conditions. This is because of their anthocyanins, compounds which can reduce inflammation, protect the joints and aid in the healing process of the connective tissues. (4)

Avocados

Medicinal Herbs that rejuvenate the entire human body!

.

Most medicinal herbs contain many natural components that assist each other with producing a wide variety of good health results for all body types. Organic herbs that regulate the body; in my opinion, have a coded intelligence to complete different functions on top of riding toxins. While our inner-being screams for repair, the actions of herbs are totally habitual and as precise as a dripping faucet, we only have to consume enough of the ones that correct. Whereas the effects of prescription-drugs can pack a sweeping first blow with quick results, long-term herbal use go much deeper in healing. As I was plagued with headaches, the use of herbs not only eliminated the pain, but did away with the underlying activity causing the pain. We’ve all heard the saying, “pressure will burst a pipe”. Well this is also true when you create a healthy condition in an unhealthy environment, but take note, consistency and discipline must be respected to obtain the rewards of renewal.

.

2 Super food/Herbs to start with.

Moringa Oleifera-Moringa Stenopetala: Speaking from a seeing is believing perspective; the Moringa is changing many circumstances in peoples lives around the world. Dispersing 7 x more vitamin C than Oranges, 4 x more vitamin A than Carrots, 4 x more Calcium and 2 x more Protein than Milk, 3 x more Potassium than Bananas, 3 x more vitamin E than Spinach, and 3 x more Iron than Almonds. To continue, the Moringa also provides a total of 18 amino acids and contains over 40 antioxidants. From assisting those with glaucoma, impotence, high & low blood pressure, to detoxing your liver. This, “super food” is definitely a win win when it comes to total fortification!

.

Parts used: Leaves, stems, made into infusions, tea, extract or dried powder.

.

Stinging Nettles: Known for fighting pain with pain and for lowering levels of certain inflammatory chemicals; in tendons, joints, strains and sprains. Nettles has more Chlorophyll than any other herb. Filled with vitamin A,C,D and K minerals, contains 500 milligrams of calcium, plus a generous amount of bone-building magnesium, potassium, silicon, boron, zinc, phosphorous, iron and sulphur which is particularly abundant in nettles.

NEW STUDY FINDS GMO CORN MAKES RATS INFERTILE

.

Unlike GM corn, non-GMO corn doesn’t cause sterility

.

http://naturalsociety.com/new-study-finds-gmo-corn-makes-rats-infertile/

.

Still think GMOs and their non-GMO counterparts are equivalent? Think again. Unlike GM corn, non-GMO corn doesn’t cause sterility. A new study released by Egyptian scientists found that rats fed a GMO diet suffer from infertility, among other health issues.

.

Researchers from the Food Technology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Anatomy and Embryology, and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Suez Canal University, Ismailia, Egypt, have found that several unsavory changes occur when rats were fed GM corn.

.

The rats’ organs/body weight and serum biochemistry were altered, indicating potential adverse health and toxic effects.

.

“GM corn or soybeans leads to significant organ disruptions in rats and mice, particularly in livers and kidneys. In addition they found other organs may be affected too, such as heart and spleen, or blood cells. The kidneys of males fared the worst, with 43.5% of all the changes, the liver of females followed with 30.8%”

.

Additionally, by day 91, many of the rats fed a GM diet were completely sterile.

.

. . .

.

As reported by Sustainable Pulse:

.

“In the third study, histopathological examination was carried out on the rats fed the GM maize, and the results were compared with rats fed non-GM maize. The study found clear signs of organ pathology in the GM-fed group, especially in the liver, kidney, and small intestine. . . .
