Casino67
Darrell Issa: Lois Lerner lost her rights RACHAEL BADE 5/22/13 House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.” (Snip) I wonder what court will hear this one? Did she or didn't she? What the heck were her lawyers thinking to let her read that kind of statement? This investigation is going to take more twists and turns than the OK tornado. P.S. Who is this Holly Patz(sp)? She sat in on most of the IG's discussions? Is she a member of the prez's staff?

Geee
TOP IRS OFFICIAL'S ATTORNEY FROM FIRM WITH CLOSE TIES TO WHITE HOUSE On Wednesday, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) senior official Lois Lerner, the director of the division that singled out conservative groups for scrutiny, pleaded the 5th Amendment at congressional hearings. The lawyer by her side at the hearings, William Taylor III of Zuckerman Spaeder, comes from a firm with unusually close ties to the Obama White House Counsel’s Office and Department of Justice.Zuckerman Spaeder has remarkably close ties to the Obama Administration. As The Washingtonian reported in 2012, “it appears that no other law firm has sent a higher percentage of partners into the Obama administration than Zuckerman Spaeder, a litigation boutique with fewer than 100 lawyers.” Among them:Kathryn Ruemmler, the White House Counsel, is a former associate at the firm. Ruemmler was a White House official who knew in advance that the IRS Inspector General Report would show the targeting of conservative groups before it was released to the general public. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/05/22/Lois-Lerner-attorney-from-boutique-law-firm-with-unusually-close-ties-to-the-White-House
Geee
Ruemmler met one-on-one with Treasury lawyer long before April Although White House Chief Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler claims to have learned about the IRS audit scandal only last month, she had three unprecedented one-on-one meetings last year with the Treasury Department’s chief lawyer, who has known about the inspector general’s investigation of the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative nonprofits since at least June 2012. The Treasury lawyer in turn has a long history of extreme left-wing agitation. Christopher J. Meade, Treasury Chief Counsel, met with Ruemmler on September 27th, December 11th, and December 13th, 2012, according to White House Visitor Records requests. The two had never met one-on-one prior to these meetings. http://dailycaller.com/2013/05/23/ruemmler-met-one-on-one-with-treasury-lawyer-long-before-april/
Draggingtree
Americans deserves to know how deep the corruption goes within the most powerful agency of government IRS’s Lois Lerner Pleads the Fifth By Arnold Ahlert (Bio and Archives) Thursday, May 23, 2013 Lois Lerner, director of the IRS tax-exempt organization division that targeted conservative groups for extra scrutiny, put in a brief but self-serving appearance before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee yesterday. “I have not done anything wrong,” she insisted in her opening statement. The organization True the Vote, which applied for tax-exempt status in 2010, is still waiting for approval. They have endured three years of delays, during which time they have dealt with four different IRS agents, been subjected to six FBI inquiries, and have submitted thousands of pages of documentation to the agency, all to no avail. As the afternoon wore on, another Democrat attempted to rescue the IRS, albeit indirectly. Rep. Peter Welch (D-VT) used his time to denounce the “absurd decision” by the Supreme Court in the Citizens United case. He claimed it has brought so much money into the political system that it threatens the ability of Congress to do its job. This absurd notion picks up where former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) left off ten days ago, when she contended broader amounts of political activity—also known as freedom of speech—made it harder for the IRS to do its job. However, it is in fact left-wing groups that dominate the non-profit sector, long before Citizens United, while their highly politicized work is rarely interfered with. http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/55409

Valin
Breaking News @BreakingNews 6m IRS official Lois Lerner, who took 5th amendment at Congressional hearing, is placed on administrative leave More Here Surprise: Lois Lerner placed on “administrative leave” Allahpundit 5/23/13 Via NRO, this isn’t really a surprise. **Josh Marshall and Ezra Klein both called for Lerner to go yesterday, a day after their little powwow at the White House. Maybe that’s a coincidence or maybe it’s something more, but either way it’s proof that even liberals thought it was time for another sacrifice to appease the scandal gods. (Snip) ** right after they left their meeting at the WH....What a coincidence! I am not surprised...Dieter (my evil twin) is shocked...stunned! Even now is sitting in the corner talking quietly to himself.

Put on administrative leave instead. I don't understand what & why she is doing what she's doing. Unless she's really guilty as sin, of something really bad.
