EXCLUSIVE: CIA operators were denied request for help during Benghazi attack, sources say

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. Consulate and subsequent attack several hours later was denied by U.S. officials -- who also told the CIA operators twice to "stand down" rather than help the ambassador's team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

@Rheo

Yes, I forgot, according to the warped views of Hillary and Obama and Susan Rice, the YouTube videos are the equivalent of peer reviewed scholarly journals

One would hope that somewhere, in the White House, in the Military, in the State Department--that there would be a person or persons that have the information we seek and would put their Country ahead of their politics and "out" the truth. We need to know who knew and when they knew it and why no action was taken. Four fine citizens are now dead, and it is quite possible that some of them might have been saved had appropriate orders been given and a rescue operation set in motion. If we find anyone was complicit in denying these poor souls a chance to survive, then those people are implicated in the murders and need to be put on trial. Why can't we find the truth?

Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods heard the same call for help Obama and his rotten friends did. Although safe where they were, and only two men, they rode to the sound of the guns.

The president, Secretary of State, the chiefs of staff, Petraeus and the rest of the rotten crap that makes up our criminal government got out the popcorn and watched the show in real time.

CIA ORDERED TO STAND DOWN DURING BENGHAZI ATTACK;

US SEALs KILLED IN ATTACK DISOBEYED ORDERS IN HEROIC EFFORT TO SAVE STEVENS & SMITH

—Ace

I hope you understand I don't mean anything bad by "disobeyed orders." I think their action casts doubt on the orders themselves.

<a href="http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/10/26/cia-operators-were-denied-request-for-help-during-benghazi-attack-sources-say//">This is bizarre.

The military was never ordered to act, and even the local CIA was ordered to stand down.

Stevens and Smith were literally left to fend for themselves, against a terrorist attack conducted by, what, 15-20 people (or more), all armed, including with mortars and RPGs.

Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. Consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to "stand down," according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to "stand down."

Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the Consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged

Panetta: Military lacked enough information to intervene during Benghazi attack

"(The) basic principle is that you don't deploy forces into harm's way without knowing what's going on; without having some real-time information about what's taking place," Panetta told Pentagon reporters. "And as a result of not having that kind of information, the commander who was on the ground in that area, Gen. Ham, Gen. Dempsey and I felt very strongly that we could not put forces at risk in that situation."

With the Panetta principle in operation there would be no man or woman who would rush into a burning building to save someone

No, the CIA is not going to take the fall for Obama on Libya-gate

Posted by William A. Jacobson Friday, October 19, 2012 at 9:26am

In a ritual as old as the existence of the modern intelligence community, leaks are beginning to spill out protecting the CIA from having to take the fall for Obama’s Libya cover-up.

Via CBS News, CIA found militant links a day after Libya attack:

U.S. officials tell The Associated Press that the CIA station chief in Libya reported to Washington within 24 hours of last month’s deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate that there was evidence it was carried out by militants, not a mob upset about an American-made, anti-Muslim movie.

It is unclear whether anyone outside the CIA saw the cable at that point or how high up in the CIA the information went.

The Obama administration maintained publicly for a week Scissors-32x32.png

No, the CIA is not going to take the fall for Obama on Libya-gate (Part 2)

In my post on October 19 (which seems soooo long ago), No, the CIA is not going to take the fall for Obama on Libya-gate, I predicted:

In a ritual as old as the existence of the modern intelligence community, leaks are beginning to spill out protecting the CIA from having to take the fall for Obama’s Libya cover-up….

18 days until the election. I hope the bureaucrats have recharged their cell phones.

Maybe there will be an October surprise after all.

AC-130U Gunship was On-Scene in Benghazi, Obama Admin Refused to Let It Fire

by

Bob Owens

October 26, 2012 - 9:50 am

If you don’t get torches-and-pitchforks irate about this, you are not an American:

The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.

There were two AC-130Us deployed to Libya in March as part of Operation Unified Protector.

The AC-130U is a very effective third-generation fire-support aircraft, capable of continuous and extremely accurate fire onto multiple targets. It has been used numerous times in Iraq and Afghanistan to save pinned-down allied forces, and has even been credited with the surrender of the Taliban city of Kunduz

It was purpose-built for a select number of specific mission types, including point-defense against enemy attack. It was literally built for the kind of mission it could have engaged in over Benghazi, Scissors-32x32.pnghttp://pjmedia.com/tatler/2012/10/26/ac-130u-gunship-was-on-scene-in-benghazi-obama-admin-refused-to-let-it-fire/

Then and Now

By Oliver North · October 26, 2012

WASHINGTON -- For better than a month, the Obama administration has been dodging and weaving over what actually transpired in Benghazi, Libya, on the night of Sept. 11-12. Questions have been posed about why Ambassador Christopher Stevens was there and not at his embassy post in Tripoli. Congressional investigators have asked why he had no security detail, why the State Department decided not to send in U.S. Marine embassy security guards when they were offered months before, why contingency plans were not in place on the anniversary of 9/11 and why the O-Team insisted for so long that the attack on our U.S. diplomatic post was a "spontaneous event" and not an act of terrorism.

By now, all should realize that truthful answers to these inquiries will not be furnished by the White House or State Department until after the presidential election on Nov. 6. But there is an even more important question that should be asked and answered now: Once the White House knew about the attack in Benghazi, what action did the president take to protect or save the lives of Americans?

"We the People" need to know the answer because we are about to hire -- or rehire -- a commander in chief. The response is crucial to determining whether the incumbent is competent enough to fulfill the responsibilities of the job or whether he should be replaced. Fortunately, we have a standard of behavior for a commander in chief in a previous well-documented terror event: Ronald Reagan during the Achille Lauro incident.

I was in an MSDNC chatroom yesterday and tried to get some conversation about Benghazi. Only comment I got was that it was 'a Republican story'. I left the room after that.
