New Mitt Ad:

Yesterday, President Obama launched his campaign by telling Americans not to ask if they are better off than they were four years ago, but how they'll be tomorrow. This follows a jobs report that found more than 340,000 Americans dropping out of the labor force and an unemployment rate that remains unacceptably high.

Report: Obama Fans Papered with Sherrod Brown Restraining Order

Yesterday, Breitbart News reported on the checkered past of Sherrod Brown, the Ohio Senator with whom Barack Obama launched his reelection campaign earlier today.

Scissors-32x32.png

Today, Brown and Obama campaigned together at Ohio State University's Schottenstein Center. According to sources close to Breitbart News, conservative activists papered cars outside the arena with excerpts of the aforementioned restraining order as well as yesterday's Breitbart News report. Larke Brown's motion asked the court to stop Sherrod from “harassing, including telephone harassment, annoying, interfering with or doing bodily harm to this Plaintiff at her residence or elsewhere.”

Shapiro drew attention to the irony of Obama choosing to launch his campaign with Brown in the midst of the alleged "War on Women."

Santorum: Just imagine the government's "Tonight Show"

On Jay Leno's show last night, Rick Santorum created a thought-experiment for supporters of government-run health care.

"Can you imagine what The Tonight Show would look like if the government ran the Tonight Show?"

Leno shot back:

"I see how it looks with NBC running it."

Santorum then repeated.

"You don't want the government to run The Tonight Show; then why do you want them to run your local hospital."

Governor Sarah Palin Endorses Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate

May 10, 2012

By James Bernsen

AUSTIN—Just four days before the start of early voting in the Texas Senate primary, the Ted Cruz campaign announced the endorsement of Governor Sarah Palin and her husband Todd Palin.

In response to a letter from Ted Cruz, Governor Sarah Palin wrote: “We’re proud to join conservatives in Texas and throughout the nation in supporting your campaign to become the next Senator from the Lone Star State.”

“Your conservative principles, passionate defense of our Constitution and our free market system come at a time when these cornerstones of our freedom and prosperity are under attack,” Governor Palin added. “Our shared goal isn’t just to change the majority in control of the Senate, but to assure principled conservatives like you are there to fight for us.”

Ted Cruz responded, “Governor Palin has been an inspiration to conservatives across Texas and across the Nation. She is principled and passionate and never afraid to speak truth to establishment power. I am humbled and honored to have Governor Palin’s support as we fight to restore fiscal sanity to the circus that is Washington. With Governor Palin’s support, and the support of tens of thousands of conservatives from all across Texas, we will turn our country around, rein in out-of-control spending and debt in Washington, and restore the Constitution.”

Cracks in the Washington Post story on Romney’s ‘pranks’ emerge

A question emerges in reading the Washington Post piece on Mitt Romney today: How can Romney’s old pal Stu White tell the Washington Post that he has “long been bothered by the Lauber incident” — and then later admit to ABC News that he was “not present for the prank” and “was not aware of it until this year when he was contacted by the Washington Post”?

This is curious.

The Washington Post story reports: “I always enjoyed his pranks,” said Stu White, a popular friend of Romney’s who went on to a career as a public school teacher and has long been bothered by the Lauber incident.”

But ABC News, says: “White was not present for the prank, in which Romney is said to have forcefully cut a student’s long hair and was not aware of it until this year when he was contacted by the Washington Post.”

The SkyBridge Alternatives (SALT) Conference is committed to facilitating balanced discussions and debates on macro-economic trends, geo-political events and alternative investment opportunities within the context of a dynamic global economy. With over 1800 thought leaders, public policy officials, business professionals, and investors from over 26 countries and 6 continents, the SALT Conference provides an unmatched opportunity for attendees from around the world to connect with global leaders and network with industry peers.

Over the course of four days, more than 100 others participate in over three dozen panels, speeches, and breakout sessions that address critical geopolitical and economic issues. The agenda is designed to provide multiple perspectives on a variety of salient topics within the context of a dynamic global economy. With notable keynote speakers, such as President Bill Clinton, President George W. Are You Better Off Now Than Four Years Ago?

25 Percent Say ‘Yes’

Resurgent Republic unveiled a new survey of registered voters. Among the highlights:

  • Voters say America is still in a recession by 72 to 24 percent. Agreement crosses partisan lines, with 84 percent of Republicans, 75 percent of independents, and 59 percent of Democrats saying the country is still in a recession.
  • 39 percent of voters say they are worse off, 36 percent say they are about the same, and only 25 percent say they are better off than four years ago.
  • A majority — 51 percent — says the economy is staying the same, including 56 percent of Republicans and 55 percent of independents, while 19 percent say it is getting worse. Only 30 percent say it is getting better, and that number is driven by Democrats — 48 percent of Democrats say the economy is getting better, but only 25 percent of independents and 15 percent of Republicans agree.
  • By 55 to 40 percent, voters say the president’s plan is not working and we need to try something else. Independents agree with Republicans that the plan is not working — 63 to 32 percent and 87 to 10 percent respectively. Only Democrats think the plan is working, by 76 to 19 percent.

This section was rather fascinating, suggesting that Romney is already doing pretty well among independents and that he needs to solidify the Republican vote:

Barack Obama is viewed somewhat more favorably than Mitt Romney overall, primarily because of Obama’s sky-high rating among Democrats. Obama’s favorable/unfavorable rating among all voters is 50/45 percent, including 88/9 percent among Democrats and 14/83 percent among Republicans. Mitt Romney’s rating is 41/45 percent overall, including 72/18 percent among Republicans and 13/71 percent among Democrats.

Who freakin' cares what Romney did in high school? Maybe he was a lunch money-shakedown artist in elementry skrewl too, eh? How many SSN's does Romney have? Does he have more than 43? Why the hell NOT?!?!? There has gots to be something nepharious up with that no doubt at all. Is he have an unimpeachable natural born citizen birth certificate? Is his selective service registration on the up and up????

Is the name at the center of this chart :

7178656828_5f44547510_b.jpg

Romney's? Do the links in the following chart:

7178656220_e8b052553a_b.jpg

implicate Romney to the grimace proportions suggested by these graphics?

Did Romney for 20 years sit in the pews of a church listing to $*@ #$!% America! sermons, and disavow any knowlege of the preacher's ideology upon campaigning for the highest elected office in the land?

Have any allegations surfaced concerning Romney being an Oldsmobile submarine commander, who abandoned ship - with disdain and to the detriment and utter chagrin of all souls aboard - that he incompetently drove to its doom? Why NOT have such allegations surfaced? It doesn't matter if such allegations are indeed true, its the seriousness of such allegations that are worthy of considerations.

If the media really wanted to hurt Romney's election viability, perhaps they could trumpet something truly egregious such as:

Oh, wait. Nevermind.

/butterflies-kittens-n-rainbows-ON

There's some other things too. But this is a family friendly board and I need to adhere to at least a modicum of behaving, right?

Those anger management techniques are helping somewhat - you know, counting to ten, takin' three deep breaths, and the like - but lead-poisoning the TV / radio several times per week, albeit wonderfull for mental well-being, I find somewhat straining of the financial wellness. What'd'ya think? Smaller caliber rounds, or less grained loads?

Obama Adds 'Clean Coal' to Website Only After Disappointing W.V. Primary

Via Hot Air:

Well, it only makes political sense if anyone believes that a second Obama term would be less hostile to coal than the first Obama term. Obama promised in January 2008 that his energy policies would bankrupt coal operators and make energy prices “skyrocket.” Treating coal as an afterthought in his campaign’s energy policy website demonstrates exactly how coal would get treated in a second Obama term, and this time voters in Pennsylvania and Ohio have plenty of first-hand experience with Obama’s war on that industry.

So have West Virginians...angry.png

Forward. Just, well...Forward!

By R. E. Bowse

If Marxist rhetoric were outlawed from today's political discourse, many progressives would be rendered mute. Consider President Obama's recently unveiled 2012 election

, "Forward!," which has a clear consonance with socialist ideologies of the interwar era.

Turns out that "forward" in Italian is "avanti," which happened to be the name of the official rag of the Italian Socialist Party in the first half of the twentieth century. From 1912 to 1915 its editor was some guy named Mussolini.

"Forward" in German is "vorwärts" and in Russian "vperyod." These, too, were the names of socialist newspapers of the same era. The former was the principle organ of the Social Democratic Party of Germany. On its pages appeared the work of Engels and Trotsky, among other socialist intellectuals. "Vperyod" was the name of a publication founded by Vladimir Lenin in 1905. The word also appeared in the title of the newspaper "Forward for Stalin" (note: its Cyrillic transliteration is "Вперёд"). Presently it is the name of a radical left-wing political organization in Russia.

Undeniably, "forward" has established a place in the socialist idiom.Scissors-32x32.png

Obama in Hollywood: A land of make-believe

By Jennifer Rubin

No one can line up the straw men like President Obama. At his George Clooney-sponsored Hollywood bash (a mutual gush-a-thon) Obama, not fearing an independent thought or trace of reality would crash the glitzy affair, proclaimed :“If you’re a kid born in a poor neighborhood in LA, tough luck, you’re on your own. If you’re a senior citizen who because of bad luck got laid off or your company ended up dissolving without your pension being vested, tough luck, you didn’t plan well enough.”

Thunk. Really? Republicans are in favor improved schools (and school choice), Medicaid reform (not destruction) and pro-job economic policies for that poor kid. (Who, by the way, may also have a church, a family and friends to help him — unlike Julia, who is ward of the state). Republicans aren’t proposing to disband Social Security; they are suggesting people like the Hollywood gazillionaires not have benefits increased at the same rate as the rest of us.

Obama’s level of exaggeration is so ludicrous that you are left wondering whether the president is the most uninformed man or the most cynical man in the country. You have to chuckle at the Hollywood set (whose limos’ collective carbon footprint would surely melt a few ice caps) that laps this up, smug and self-satisfied that they are in touch with America and taking care of all the little people. (Do they give as much in charity as Mitt Romney does?)

It is hard to think of a group of people — the president included — more out of touch with economic and political reality. That Obama embraces a picture of the world more cartoonish than the animated films of Democratic donor and presidential pal Jeffrey Katzenberg’s DreamWorks (which, thanks very much to help from the administration, signed a billion-dollar-deal with the Chinese, so no, never mind about human rights abuses there or poor Mr. Chen

Rush Limbaugh's Time Mag Cover: 'Obama's Child Rearing Technique'

By Noel Sheppard | May 12, 2012 | 09:26

Time magazine shocked the nation this week with a cover photo of a three-year-old boy being nursed by his mother as promotion for its feature article "Are You Mom Enough?"

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh marvelously lampooned this cover Friday with the headline "Obama's Child Rearing Technique".

""I ordered (uh, asked) the art director at RushLimbaugh.com to redo the time cover with the kid sucking the breast of the Statue of Liberty and re-headline it as 'Obama's Child Rearing Technique,' written by me," Limbaugh told listeners Friday.

Now THAT'S a statement neither Time nor any liberal media publication would have the guts to make!
