Liking Newt's response. Why don't they focus on removing their leverage by removing any dependence on them?

we have a bunch of Luddites in Washington.

guess Ron Paul thinks we can talk them to death

Talking is definitely the answer.

It goes like this:

Mr. (Despot of Choice). You have 24 hours to show a positive compliance with the following.

(List your demand)

24 hours goes by...

"Time's Up"

Launch the missiles on the Despot of Choice's domicile.

Proceed to the next Despot of Choice.

How many do you think it would take before the ducks start lining up in a row?

Wouldn't take but a couple of times to get their total attention

Consensus is to get Feds out of education. Get back to local with varying level of charisma between the candidates. All saying roughly the same thing.

Given the abysmal parenting ability of millions or rather the prolific breeding ability of many how realistic is Newt's rosy fiction of getting education out of fed, state, and local and back to parents?

Meanwhile almost 7000 deaths on the War On Terror and 45000 plus casualties.

?

I was referring to Paul harping on the dollars and ignoring the human cost, @Valin.

Once again, Paul annoys me by making sense on education.

don't worry for every one time he's right he'll take 4 or 5 insane positions on other thing

Paul... no constitutional provision for feds to be involved in education..... Pepper's man...

I 'd vote for any of them, including Paul, caeteris paribus. But since he's not the same as the others I get a freebie.

When things are so far insane in one direction, insane in the opposite direction can sound like a good plan.

Actually, I think it's about a 50-50 ratio but I won't quibble.

His spot on the cabinet should be head of the DOE.

He'd eliminate it within a year.

Great debate thread, guys, gals.

Yep! Hard to not get a bit snarky after 75 debates, but it was balanced with some thoughtful commentary.

Romney: I'll give a campaign speech instead of answering...

Santorum: I'd rather answer with a campaign speech, too.
