Speaking of the protesters:

Occupy L.A. Speaker: Violence will be Necessary to Achieve Our Goals

Occupy L.A. Speaker: “One of the speakers said the solution is nonviolent movement. No, my friend. I’ll give you two examples: French Revolution, and Indian so-called Revolution.

Gandhi, Gandhi today is, with respect to all of you, Gandhi today is a tumor that the ruling class is using constantly to mislead us. French Revolution made fundamental transformation. But it was bloody.

India, the result of Gandhi, is 600 million people living in maximum poverty.

So, ultimately, the bourgeoisie won’t go without violent means. Revolution! Yes, revolution that is led by the working class.

Long live revolution! Long live socialism!”

Crowd: [Cheers.]

Olive Garden won't allow display of US Flag for a Kiwanis group:

http://www.cbs12.com/articles/garden-4735966-flag-olive.html#ixzz1aa6dLDOZ

The parent company of Olive Garden is Darden Restaurants. It's also the parent company of Red Lobster and Longhorn among others. Darden is the same corporation that recently "rolled over" for Moochelle in her hokey I-am-the-government-and-I-know-what-is-best-for-your-kids-menus while she chows down on fried foods at an alarming rate.

I don't think I'll ever be able to bring myself to eat at one of these places again.

The CEO of the bankrupt Bay Area solar panel company Solyndra has stepped down.

New court documents show Brian Harrison resigned last Friday, two weeks after he appeared before a congressional panel and refused to answer questions about the $500 million government loan guarantee Solyndra received.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports: Solyndra wants to hire R. Todd Neilson to handle the company's bankruptcy case. Neilson has a background in forensic accounting and had served as bankruptcy trustee for former boxer, Mike Tyson.

Now that he's unemployed, watch for Harrison to surface at OWS.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A spokesman for the Wisconsin Democratic Party says more recalls of Republican state senators are planned for next year.

Spokesman Graeme Zielinski said Thursday that an undetermined number of Republican lawmakers are likely to be targeted for recall at the same time as Gov. Scott Walker. Republicans currently hold a 17-16 majority in the Senate following recalls this summer in which Democrats ousted two Republican incumbents.

Zielinski declined to say which of the 17 incumbents would be targeted or how many. Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Democrats, including Minority Leader Mark Miller of Monona, may also be targeted.

Three Democrats survived recalls this summer.

It would take between 15,000 and 20,000 signatures to force a recall election for senators.

“There’s a lot of stuff we wouldn’t have to clean up if the city provided basic human rights, like a Port-A-Potty,” said demonstrator Gene Wagner. “If you would’ve given us a Port-A-Potty 30 days ago, we would’ve maintained it ourselves.”

“This is a protest; it’s not a camping area. People aren’t camping here, they’re protesting and we have the right to have sleeping bags. Where are they gonna sleep? How are they gonna protest? Without sleeping bags, they can’t protest,” one demonstrator told 1010 WINS’ Stan Brooks

Tanning Tax Income Pales Compared With Estimate, Audit Finds LINK

Revenue from a 10 percent excise tax on indoor tanning services mandated by the 2010 health-care overhaul law is falling short of projections, a government watchdog reported today.

The tax brought in $17.8 million in the last quarter of the 2010 fiscal year and $36.6 million in the first half of fiscal 2011, according to the report by J. Russell George, the Treasury Department’s inspector general for tax administration.

The tanning levy was projected to generate $2.7 billion over 10 years, including $200 million for fiscal 2011, according to the congressional Joint Committee on Taxation.

George attributed the lower-than-projected revenue to a smaller number of taxpayers than anticipated filing returns with the excise tax payments.

So how many other fees and taxes that made Obama's health care package clear revenue requirements are falling behind? Looks like there is going to be at least a billion short from just this one.
