WestVirginiaRebel Posted February 11, 2012 Share Posted February 11, 2012 Twitter rumor claims death of Korean leader Kim Jong-Un A team of trained ninja assassins snuck into North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un's room overnight and assassinated the new leader while he was on a business trip in Beijing -- if rumors spreading across microblogging service Twitter and its Chinese counterpart Weibo are to be believed, that is. The rumors -- unsubstantiated by any major news service or government agency -- started on the Chinese language Twitter clone earlier today, claiming Jong-Un had been killed in his residence. “According to reliable sources, North Korean leader [Kim Jong-Un was killed] in Beijing in February 10 2012, at 2 o'clock and 45 minutes. Unknown persons broke into his residence shot and were subsequently shot and killed by the bodyguard,” one Tweet claimed. No new photo of the leader of the reclusive country has emerged -- at least none picked up by the popular tumblr blog Kim Jong-Un Looking at Things. Ninjas! He kicks butt. As someone whose home was saved from ruin by those guys I can say first hand that they do this. Like most Americans who work on their cars, we had all kinds of things in the garage that could have exploded, but those guys just marched right in just like that and took care of it as calm as anything. The only thing I did do, is keep one Fireman from knocking our gate in because he couldn't get it open. There I am, in my jammies, running over from the street and opening it for him. Rheo Posted February 11, 2012 Author Share Posted February 11, 2012 Obama tasks new council with 'global development' strategy President Obama has created a new commission charged with promoting "global development" -- a move that comes as the Middle East continues to churn with uprisings rooted in the Arab Spring. The Global Development Council, created by executive order, will be administered by USAID, the agency that provides economic and humanitarian aid abroad. The panel appears to be an effort to come up with a more focused strategy toward working with other countries in a new era of upheaval. The council would bring together representatives from nonprofit advocacy groups and charities, as well as colleges and businesses. The secretary of state and other administration officials would also be involved. The order tasks the council with informing "the policy and practice of U.S. global development policy and programs." This would cover "economic growth and good governance" programs. The order stresses development for "low and middle income economies." -- My my, the man is busy. Stop it! pollyannaish Posted February 11, 2012 Share Posted February 11, 2012 I am reading up on the Mortgage program the president announced and getting more and more frustrated. ALL of these programs to reduce principle, to reduce payments and to reduce interest rates are for people who are underwater in their mortgages. What drives me nuts about this specifically is that people who have not constantly flipped houses, who have not borrowed against their homes aren't eligible. It seems to me that older families and individuals who have paid their entire lives on a home and find their investment reduced deserve "saving" just as much as anyone else. It's obviously the worst kind of program to begin with, but the fact that it rewards the least responsible behavior over the responsible just gets my goat even more. What if the individual responsible for that theft…what if they were acting as some kind of laundering organization? And what if she represents a small fraction of the entire fu–ing operation that all ties back to the administration? Tens…hundreds of millions? Billions? Who the f-ck knows? The entire election system…the funding…what if it’s all corrupted? All of it? Typo or clue? Insider: Yes it’s possible – it was DONE. This president – Obama…he did it. Is doing it…and he’ll do it again…his people…they will do it again. And maybe this time…maybe they’re up to a billion dollars…more? Nobody knows. Money from China? Pakistan? Iran? Libya? Nobody fu–ing knows. That’s what I’m trying to lay out here…and I know it’s a convoluted mish…mish-mashing mess…that’s how they get away with it all. Make it all so damn…messy.
