If anyone needs any further proof that Barack Obama merely says what the teleprompter tells him to, the remarks delivered at yesterday's ceremony marking the new chairman of the joint chiefs provides it. The President of the United States refers to his wife as "Michael." The insurgents were ultimately defeated, but not before 8 US troops were killed. The first killed was PFC Kevin Thomson, from Reno, NV. who worked at the mortar pit. The enemy targeted the mortars first. Sgt. Joshua Kirk was regarded as one of the most courageous men at the camp. He was killed next, near the camp entrance, fighting back. Sgt. Michael Susca ran out of the barracks to fight the enemy. He was the 3rd soldier killed. Always made the guys smile, Scusa. The docs in the aid station did everything they could to keep Spc. Stephen Mace alive. But he didnt make it. Less than one year later, Specialist Ed Faulkner, who survived that day, ODed. Thomas Lobel, who now calls himself Tammy, is undergoing controversial hormone blocking treatment in Berkeley, California to stop him going through puberty as a boy. But Pauline Moreno and Debra Lobel warn that children with gender identity disorder forced to postpone transitioning could face a higher risk of suicide. The mothers say that one of the first things Thomas told them when he learned sign language aged three - because of a speech impediment - was, 'I am a girl'. At age seven, after threatening genital mutilation on himself, psychiatrists diagnosed Thomas with gender identity disorder. By the age of eight, he began transitioning. This summer, he started taking hormone-blocking drugs, which will stop him from experiencing puberty.
