On Thursday’s broadcast of “CNN News Central,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre reacted to Republicans blaming President Joe Biden for Laken Riley’s death by saying that “We have done the work to make sure we’re dealing with a broken immigration system. The Republicans have gotten in the way.”

Co-host John Berman asked, “One of the things that some Americans are focused on are crimes that are allegedly being committed by migrants who are in the country illegally. There was the death of Laken Riley in Georgia. There’s been an arrest made there. Republicans are directly blaming President Biden for this. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) said, These deaths are ‘on him.‘ What’s the White House response to that?”

Jean-Pierre responded, “So, first of all, I want to offer our condolences to the family of Laken. This is a horrific, horrific loss for any family. And obviously, … whoever is found guilty, we need to make sure that that happens. And, obviously, we don’t want to see anything happen like that again.”

Illegal Immigrant In Utah Arrested For Alleged Rape Of 11-Year-Old

A Guatemalan national in the country illegally was arrested by Utah police on Monday for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl, according to police records obtained by The Daily Wire.

Twenty-six-year-old Jonathan Estuardo Ruano Garcia is being held in the Utah County jail, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) placed a detainer on him, the sheriff’s office told The Daily Wire.

Federal Judge Blocks Texas Law That Would Allow Law Enforcement to Arrest Illegal Migrants

A federal judge blocked a Texas law Thursday that allows local police to arrest migrants who cross into the state illegally.

U.S. District Court Judge David Alan Ezra, a Reagan appointee, said in a 114-page ruling that the law, SB 4, “threatens the fundamental notion that the United States must regulate immigration with one voice.” He issued a preliminary injunction preventing the law from taking effect while the case proceeds, finding Texas was “unlikely to succeed on the merits” and noting the government would “suffer grave irreparable harm” if the law took effect.

Illegal aliens will get interest-free home mortgage loans under a new California bill.

Democrat assemblymember Joaquin Arambula (Fresno) recently introduced Assembly Bill 1840 to extend a first-time homebuyer loan program to illegal aliens.

 

If the bill becomes law, illegal aliens will be eligible for a new program that offers a loan worth 20% of the purchase price of the residential property. There are no monthly payments and no interest accrues on the loan. Rather, the loan is paid back when the borrower refinances or sells the property. The borrower will have to pay back the original loan plus a 20% increase in the value of the property.

ICE Won't Honor Detainer on Illegal Alien Rapist in FL, So He's Walking Free

We’re in the middle of a ghastly game of whack-a-mole with illegal alien crime. These thugs are beating and shooting police officers, raping women, and beating them to death. The Laken Riley case in Georgia has captured national media attention, along with the heinous spin liberals are chucking out there to divert attention away from illegal immigrant crime. Riley’s killer, Jose Ibarra, an illegal alien from Venezuela, entered the US in 2022 and was arrested twice before he committed this brutal homicide. In Washington, DC, an illegal alien is responsible for the shooting death of a two-year-old.  

These tragedies were preventable, but current federal policy under Biden has immigration enforcement officers working with both hands tied behind their backs. Then, there are these cases where it's ICE who won't take violent illegal aliens accused of brutal crimes. There has been a breakdown in cooperation with ICE on detainers for illegals, especially in New York City. Still, this story out of Florida deals with a man, Juan Jose-Sebastian, 26, who was busted for driving without a license. It turns out he's wanted on rape charges in Washington. He’s scheduled to be released from jail in Martin County because both ICE and Washington State won't take him:

 

UNDOCUMENTED MAN WITH WARRANTS FOR RAPE OUT OF OREGON, TO BE RELEASED FROM THE MARTIN COUNTY JAIL

26-year old Juan Jose-Sebastian, a man who was arrested in Martin County for never having a license, but driving anyway, will soon walk out of the Martin County Jail a free man, even though he has a warrant out of Washington County, Oregon for three counts of rape and sexual abuse.

This afternoon, Sheriff William Snyder, learned that ICE will not take custody of the undocumented Guatemalan immigrant and Washington County Oregon will not extradite from Florida. As a result, the wanted rapist will be released into our community today. There is no legal way for the Sheriffs Office to continue holding Jose – Sebastian, as he completed his sentence for the charge of driving without a valid license.

ICE detains 6 fugitives in Utah vacation town, 3 with illegal immigrant status

MOAB, Utah — US Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) enforcement operations have arrested 6 fugitives, at least three of which are illegal immigrants.

Eric Adams Says Giving Pre-Paid Credit Cards to Illegal Migrants Is 'Smart' and a 'Real Win'

Democrat mayor Eric Adams is defending his decision to hand out pre-paid credit cards to illegal migrants living illegally in New York City. 

During a press conference on Friday, Adams claimed that the move is a “real win” and a “smart way to bring down the cost” of the thousands of illegal aliens who have invaded the city. 

Adams said that the city is saving appropriately $600,000 a month and $7.2 million a year by giving “individuals”— notice the Democrat didn’t call them illegal migrants— pre-paid cards that will be allowed to be used at local bodegas, grocery stores, supermarkets, and convenience stores across Manhattan. :snip:

Immigrant backlog projected to hit record-high 8 million by October: Report

The number of migrants living in the United States awaiting asylum cases could reportedly surpass 8 million by the end of September, marking a record-high amid a surge of illegal immigration at the southern border. 

More than 8 million asylum-seekers are projected to be living in the country awaiting legal decisions and enforcement on whether they can stay or will be deported, according to internal government documents given to Congress that were obtained by Axios. The projection is far above the 3 million migrants who were in the same holding pattern in 2019, and it’s roughly a 167% increase over the last five years, according to the outlet. :snip:

The Truth About Illegal-Alien Criminality

Democrat defenders of open-borders immigration policies and their allies in the media have long claimed that illegal aliens make wonderful neighbors who, per capita, commit significantly fewer crimes against persons and property than do native-born American citizens. President Biden’s campaign co-chair Rep. Veronica Escobar, for example, repeated this mantra as recently as Friday on CNN Newsroom, in reaction to the high-profile murder of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, allegedly by a Venezuelan national living illegally in the United States.

But common sense alone should tell us that people who blithely ignore American immigration laws are likely to disrespect federal, state and local laws as well. Indeed, as Ronald Mortensen  pointed out in The Hill, “virtually all adult, illegal aliens commit felonies” such as forgery, fraud, identity theft, and perjury, “to procure the documents they need to get jobs, to drive and to obtain other benefits that are restricted to U.S. citizens.” These documents include Social Security cards, drivers’ licenses, green cards, birth certificates, and I-9 forms, among others.

The crimes of illegal aliens also include a multitude of violent, bloody, highly destructive offenses. And this is by no means a new phenomenon. In 2005, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report that looked at the criminal histories of 55,322 aliens who had “entered the country illegally and were still illegally in the country at the time of their incarceration in federal or state prison or local jail during fiscal year 2003.” Those 55,322 illegals had been arrested 459,614 times — an average of 8.3 arrests apiece — and had committed almost 700,000 separate criminal offenses, or roughly 12.7 offenses each. Approximately 12 percent of their arrests were for violent crimes such as homicide, robbery, assault, and sex-related offenses; 15 percent were for property offenses like burglary, larceny, theft, and vandalism; 24 percent were for drug crimes; and the rest were for a wide array of transgressions like DUI, fraud, forgery, counterfeiting, weapons violations, immigration crimes, and obstruction of justice.

Between 2003 and 2009, illegals in the U.S. committed approximately 70,000 sex crimes, 42,000 robberies, 81,000 auto thefts, 95,000 weapons offenses, and 213,000 assaults. During that same period, some 115,717 murders were committed nationwide, of which 25,064 were carried out by “criminal aliens.”

In 2009, a total of 295,959 criminal aliens were incarcerated in state jails and prisons across the United States. Approximately 227,600 of them – or 77 percent — were in the U.S. illegally. And the crimes they committed were very often serious. Consider, for instance, the following crime statistics for five particular states with large illegal-alien populations. Setting aside traffic offenses:

• 41 percent of all illegal-alien convictions in Arizona were for drug crimes and assault;

• about half of such convictions in California and Texas were for drugs, assault, and sex offenses;
• roughly 50 percent of such convictions were for drug offenses, sex crimes, burglary, and robbery; and
• in New York, 23 percent were for drug-related offenses, while an astonishing 27 percent were for homicide.

Migrant Surge Brings Killers and Criminal Gangs

Former New York City Police Department Commissioner Ray Kelly, the department’s longest-serving commissioner, cautioned on Sunday that New York City’s quality of life “has really deteriorated.” Migrant crime is a major reason.

Venezuela’s notorious Tren de Aragua gang and El Salvador’s feared MS-13 — what former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker calls “prison-spawned gangs” — are threatening to take over American cities. They bring “mindless knuckle-dragging violence,” warns Swecker. They’re the “most dangerous gangs on the planet.”

Swecker speculates that countries are emptying their prisons deliberately. Gang leaders setting up crime rings in the U.S. “come out of the muck and the slime of the South American prisons.”

While law enforcement officials here are warning us about the collapse of public safety, left-wing pols deny there’s a problem. Ana Maria Archila, co-director of New York’s Working Families Party, calls the “chaos and insecurity” people are feeling a “false sense.” She blames it on racism and xenophobia, not reality.
