A Trump Presidency: A Victory for the Unborn

For the first time in recent memory, the future looks bright for those who are pro-life

November 9, 2016

What a night! While some are cheering and others jeering, the outcome of the presidential election in the Unites States is a qualified victory for the unborn.

However, the occupant of the Oval Office does not change the primary focus and ground game of the pro-life cause: changing hearts and minds to make abortion unthinkable, and providing support for mothers who choose life.

“The days of public funding of Planned Parenthood are over when the Trump-Pence administration arrives.”

It is an understatement to say that this election season has been divisive for the nation — and for pro-life activists as well. But what happens now? How will having a professed pro-life president make our job easier? Scissors-32x32.png

ACLU to Trump: 'See you in court'

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is warning President-elect Donald Trump that it will "see him in court," threatening to use its “full firepower” if he tries to follow through on controversial campaign promises on immigration, torture and other issues.

“These proposals are not simply un-American and wrong-headed, they are unlawful and unconstitutional,” Anthony Romero, executive director of the ACLU, said in a statement Wednesday. “They violate the First, Fourth, Fifth, Eight and Fourteenth Amendments. If you do not reverse course and instead endeavor to make these campaign promises a reality, you will have to contend with the full firepower of the ACLU at every step.”

The group's homepage solicited donations with a large image of Trump's face, telling visitors, "We need you to stand with us now."Scissors-32x32.png

Ryan says Trump to lead 'unified' GOP government

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Wednesday morning assured Americans that there will be a unified Republican government going forward following Donald Trump's stunning presidential victory.

Speaking from his hometown of Janesville, Wis., Ryan said he has spoken with the president-elect twice since his win, and described a positive, working relationship.

"Last night and again this morning I spoke with President-elect Donald Trump," Ryan said. "We talked about the work ahead of us and importance of bringing this country together.

“I think our relationship is fine. I think we’re going to hit the ground running. We’ve already talked about getting our transitions working together.”

Asked by a reporter if his conversation with Trump included Ryan’s Speakership fate, the Wisconsin Republican sidestepped the question and only offered that they discussed collaborating on their transition teams.Scissors-32x32.png

KRUGMAN FREAKS OUT, VOWS TO KEEP FIGHTING LMFAO.gif

There is much to savor this morning, including the hysteria that is sweeping across the Left. We see it in ways large and small. At one of our local colleges, a class was canceled because the professor was crying too hard to teach. “I don’t feel safe here,” she said. The storm troopers were due any minute, apparently.

On a slightly larger (if rapidly fading) stage, Paul Krugman comforts the leftist faithful:

Some morning-after thoughts: what hits me and other
[sic]
so hard isn’t just the immense damage Trump will surely do, to climate above all.

This is unintentionally hilarious. The idea that the President controls the climate is wholly unscientific, but look on the bright side: if the worst Trump can do is harm the climate, the world is safe!Scissors-32x32.png
