trump-wins-presidency-defeats-clinton-in-historic-election-upset.htmlFox News:

Donald Trump, defying the pundits and polls to the end, defeated Hillary Clinton in Tuesday’s presidential election and claimed an establishment-stunning victory that exposes the depth of voter dissatisfaction – and signals immense changes ahead for American policy at home and abroad.

Seventeen months after the billionaire tycoon’s Trump Tower entrance into the race, the first-time candidate once dismissed by the political elite will become the 45th president, Fox News projects.

Speaking to cheering supporters early Wednesday morning at his victory party in New York City, the Republican candidate and now president-elect said Clinton called to congratulate him, and Fox News confirms she has conceded. Despite their hard-fought campaign, Trump praised Clinton for her service and said “it is time for us to come together as one united people.”

“I will be president for all Americans,” Trump vowed, after a brief introduction by running mate Mike Pence.Scissors-32x32.png

He mobilized the peasants with pitchforks to kill the queen and her attendants.

In August, the Washingtonian ran an article entitled, “The Washington Post Can’t Find A Columnist Who Supports Trump.” But the article did note “there have been some decent Trump-curious articles in and outside the Post this year, though they’re generally less about his ideas and more about what he represents. Tucker Carlson wrote for about how people in the ‘warm bath’ of Washington missed the causes of anger that fueled Trump’s rise. In the American Spectator, George Neumayr used the experience of hanging out with ‘profane, tattooed bikers’ to explain the candidate’s appeal.”

I was back in their midst on Tuesday night in Queens and they erupted with glee as Hillary sank in state after state. “I hope Hillary is wearing her Depends tonight,” one hooted at the screen after she lost Ohio. “Lock her up,” they chanted. “Build the wall, Donald!” When indications of his inevitable victory finally emerged, they began chanting, “USA! USA! USA!”

No doubt similar cries rang out in bars in Ohio and VFW halls across the country. Against astonishing odds, Trump mobilized the peasants with pitchforks, to borrow Pat Buchanan’s phrase, to kill the queen and her ruling-class attendants.Scissors-32x32.png

No Concession Speech from Clinton: Podesta Says, 'We'll Have More to Say Tomorrow

(CNSNews.com) - shortly after 2 am Wednesday, John Podesta, Hillary Clinton's campaign manager, walked onto the stage at Clinton's election night headquarters and told her supporters to "head home" and "get some sleep."

Instead of a hearing a traditional concession speech from the candidate herself, Podesta spoke for Clinton, assomething her aides often do, as WikiLeaks made clear.

Podesta said Clinton will not give her concession speech until all the votes are counted: Here are his remarks, in their entirety:

Well, folks, I know you've been here a long time. And it's been a long night and it's been a long campaign. But I can say, we can wait a little longer, can't we? They're still counting votes and every vote should count. Several states are too close to call, so we're not going to have anything more to say tonight.Scissors-32x32.png

What Donald Trump’s Victory Means for the Mainstream Media

After a long night that ended up with a clear Trump victory, I think it’s safe enough to say that, from now on, there are going to be some radical changes in the relationship between the American people and Mainstream Media (MSM).

Here there are the following 15 talking points that should be considered (in a random order):

(1) The MSM has always presented itself as the holder of Truth. Reality has shown that MSM has been engaged for way too long in a war with Truth, and MSM has lost this war.

(2) The MSM has portrayed Hillary Clinton as a person exonerated from criminal responsibility for her numerous acts of corruption and illegal activities over time. Reality has indicated that she has jeopardized national security, and has threatened certain individuals, perceived as dangerous or compromising for her own political convenience.Scissors-32x32.png

AMERICAN UPRISING

This wasn’t an election. It was a revolution.

It’s midnight in America. The day before fifty million Americans got up and stood in front of the great iron wheel that had been grinding them down. They stood there even though the media told them it was useless. They took their stand even while all the chattering classes laughed and taunted them.

They were fathers who couldn’t feed their families anymore. They were mothers who couldn’t afford health care. They were workers whose jobs had been sold off to foreign countries. They were sons who didn’t see a future for themselves. They were daughters afraid of being murdered by the “unaccompanied minors” flooding into their towns. They took a deep breath and they stood.

They held up their hands and the great iron wheel stopped.

At the President’s Victory Party

NEW YORK—What do you want me to say? That by 8:30 p.m. all the NYPD officers outside the lobby of the Hilton Midtown were carrying machine guns? That a bottle of Coors Light cost $10 and we weren’t allowed to use the ATM in the hotel and had to walk across the street and wait for a customer to use her card to open the door to TD Bank? That a pair of whiny-looking kids showed up more than half an hour late to pick up their credentials saying “We’re with Breitbart” as if it were Pravda and got in? That by midnight virtually every cop and security guard and Trump staffer in the building was behaving like a psychotic, some of them insisting that press credentials people had been carrying for six hours were fake? That the fat slob in the ponytail who sat down at my reserved table in the media filing center without asking me got cookie crumbs and pieces of potato chip and uneaten bits of fruit all over the place and left without cleaning up? That the kind and very funny Scottish-Canadian woman I smoked and chatted with outside in the hope that one of the networks would finally call the race and Trump would speak found the results appalling and bizarre? That Milo and his cronies just ran by pointing at journalists and shouting “Does anybody want to guess how big the wall’s gonna be? You? You?” That it’s past 2:00 but I still don’t really know whether Trump won?Scissors-32x32.png

Trump shocks the world with White House win

NEW YORK — Donald J. Trump shocked the world Tuesday, winning election as the 45th president of the United States.

The Republican nominee’s victory came after projections showed him winning the states of Florida and North Carolina, as well as Wisconsin, which a Republican nominee had not won in decades.

Trump, once again, defied all the predictions.

His condemnations of the political establishment and his insistence that he alone can restore American greatness resonated with voters far from the media epicenters of the east and west coast. They came out in huge numbers to lift him to victory in the key battleground states. Jubiliation built throughout the evening at his election night headquarters at a midtown Manhattan hotel

Trump’s win is a huge upset to virtually everyone but the ebullient candidate himself. Clinton had led by around three points in the national polling averages as Election Day dawned, and some data prediction websites had put her chances of victory around 90 percent. Scissors-32x32.png

Trump strikes unifying tone in victory speech

President-elect Donald Trump sought to cast himself as a unifier in his victory speech early Wednesday morning, calling for all Americans to come together to "bind the wounds of division."

"To all Democrats, Republicans, Independents across this nation, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people," Trump said, taking the stage just before 3 a.m. Eastern after walking out to the score from the movie "Air Force One."

"For those who chose not to support me in the past, of which there are a few people, I'm reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so we can reach out and unify our great country."

Trump's became president-elect came after a stunning string of victories in almost every major swing state, threading the needle on what many political pundits had deemed an impossible path to 270 electoral votes.

While the conversation in recent had centered on whether Trump would concede if he lost, Trump addressed his supporters at the New York Hilton with more than 270 electoral votes in the bag and more potentially on the way. Scissors-32x32.png

Obama invites Trump to White House on Thursday

President Obama phoned President-elect Donald Trump early Wednesday and invited him to the White House on Thursday.

“The president invited the president-elect to meet with him at the White House on Thursday, Nov. 10, to update him on the transition planning his team has been working on for nearly a year,” the White House press secretary’s office said in a statement Wednesday.

“Ensuring a smooth transition of power is one of the top priorities the president identified at the beginning of the year and a meeting with the president-elect is the next step."

The White House said Obama will also discuss the election results with Americans Wednesday, detailing steps the nation can make to “come together after this hard-fought election season.”

Trump Bulldozes Blue Wall, Wins White House

In the most shocking upset American politics has ever seen, Trump tore through the Rust Belt to defeat Hillary Clinton.

New York — Donald John Trump will be the 45th president of the United States, having bested Hillary Clinton in what can be considered the biggest upset in American political history.

The man who has defied the expectations of political observers at every turn delivered his biggest surprise yet Tuesday night, beating Clinton by barreling through the so-called blue wall of states that had not been carried by a Republican in decades. Trump won Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan and also flipped Ohio, which President Obama had carried in each of the past two elections. This clean sweep through the Rust Belt — netting 64 electoral votes, the exact number by which Mitt Romney fell short of the presidency four years ago — clinched the White House for Trump. He also won back the states of Iowa and Florida, and is deadlocked with Clinton in New Hampshire. He will finish with a grand total of at least 305 electoral votes, and with 90 percent of all precincts reporting nationwide, he led Clinton in the popular vote as of 4:30 a.m. ET.Scissors-32x32.png

AFTER LAST NIGHT

With Donald Trump’s improbable victory last night, the Clinton Crime Family can retire from public life to enjoy its ill-gotten gains. Lady Hillary tastes the fruit of an incredibly bitter and humiliating defeat. Her zombie husband is now free to continue his “charitable” efforts and pursue other interests unimpeded by the need to keep up appearances.

I pray that Donald Trump will honor the high office he has attained. As Jesse Ventura put it when he proclaimed victory in Minnesota’s 1998 gubernatorial election, he has shocked the world. He has much to do and to undo to set our country back on course.

It was a great night for Republicans. Against the odds, they maintain only slightly diminished control of both houses of Congress. They too have much work to do and to undo to set our country back on course.

Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republican caucus have been vindicated in declining to act on the nomination President Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. Trump will now have the opportunity to name the successor to Justice Scalia. To say the least, the prospect pleases — the prospect that the Supreme Court may not fall indefinitely to the left in the left’s battle to destroy limited constitutional government.Scissors-32x32.png

Trump Wins -- Time to End the Republican Civil War

As many are saying, the presidential election was Brexit on steroids.

Nevertheless, after eight years of autocratic Obama rule that saw an absurd healthcare plan rammed through Congress and an even more horrific Iran deal rammed though without Congress, not to mention a thousand other regulatory actions we barely hear about, a terminally flat economy, extra-constitutional executive actions etc.,etc., victory should be sweet for the Republican side -- or so you would think.

But if you were watching Fox News (not the more Trump-friendly and vastly more interesting Fox Business) as the returns were coming in, the commentators (except for the eminently sensible Tucker Carlson) made you think what we were witnessing was the final ascendance of Eugene V. Debs after six attempts and America was about to turn communist -- or something. I'm not going to name names. It's pointless and contrary to what I am trying to do. But I thought half those commentators were about to cry. Some of them actually were.

And this is a conservative network.Scissors-32x32.png

The Guardian view on President-Elect Donald Trump: a dark day for the world

Editorial

The unthinkable is only unthinkable until it happens. Then, like the sacking of Rome, it can seem historically inevitable. So it is with the global political earthquake that is the election of Donald Trump as the next president of the United States. If he is true to his campaign pledges, which were many and reckless, Mr Trump’s win will herald America’s most stunning reversal of political and economic orthodoxy since the New Deal in the 1930s, but with the reverse effect. It halts the ailing progressive narrative about modern America and the 21st-century world in its tracks. It signals a seismic rupture in the American-dominated global liberal economic and political order that had seemed to command the 21st century after communism collapsed and China’s economy soared.Scissors-32x32.png

Something that needs to be remembered while we celebrate

Hillary Clinton 59,195,587 votes

Donald Trump 59,054,701 votes

This is still a 50/50 nation.

I would also point out Americans traditionally like divided government. If the WH and the House & Senate aren't careful, we could very well see either the House or Senate Flip.
