They found Chad, but he was just hanging on...

Trump says he'll end fraud in the VA system.

And build a wall around it.

Ad for movie Risen. In the rating disclaimer box on of the 3 things mentioned is "Biblical Violence". Really? Is that better or worse than normal violence?

Did it get any better?

It did get better but we know nothing new and no one was so bad or good to make a difference.

Mr.n. and I went to a hockey game tonight. Sounds like we had a lot more fun. I don't think there is anything to be gained in having any more of these "debates." I wonder how many more there will be before Nov.

Scanning all the Conservative websites this morning, it would seem the consensus is not who won the debate, but that Rubio lost. Sorry can't post articles. but that is the synopsis.

Of course, spend a week building him up, then tear him down.

Something has to be done about the format of these joint pressers debates. As it stands, the candidates speak in sound byte talking points, the moderators try to create controversy.

1. The candidates sit at a table and talk to each other, explain themselves to each other (and to us).

2 A single moderator asks a question steps back to (say 10 minutes) then asks another (Note: the questions should not be so and so said this about you, how do you respond)

3. Lose the token Conservative/Republican.

4. Try having a Real Debate 2 candidates debating each other with a time keeper and no moderator. This could be done online.

I don't know about you but the format used now ain't workin.

Yes our son (could not watch the debates) just texted that from reading all the sites and Fox News clips that Rubio really did bad.

After sleeping on it I think the person that has the most to gripe about with ABC is Fiorina. ABC has a paid Democrat Hillary supporter on as spokesperson -George Stephanopoulos. Probably most of ABC's team is for Hillary or at the least a Democrat. Fiorina was left totally out. I know her ratings were low but still she is hanging in there and should have been included.

"Rubio's Glitch"

(Bumped up by Drew)

That's what it's being called.

Chris Christie told Rubio exactly how he'd hit him. He told him exactly where he'd hit him.

First of all, let me get this out of the way: Rubio is a good candidate. He's well prepared. He's presentable. He seems nice.

However, something has been bugging many of us about him. Besides amnesty. Maybe it was amnesty that caused us to see him in a more hostile light, but nevertheless, in that hostile light, we were seeing something that we couldn't quite put our finger on, that we couldn't quite explain, but that we didn't like.

Mickey Kaus pretty much explained it a few days ago, however. Kaus spoke of Rubio's 25 second canned soundbites as "modules" which could be moved around and reorganized on the fly to answer a range of questions in a not-quite-lifelike manner: Scissors-32x32.png

RM - I don't completely agree with the conclusion that Rubio lost the debate last night. I think he had a bad showing in the first part of the debate, but redeemed himself in the second half - which in my mind makes it about even. I just don't think he gained any ground for himself. I personally do not like when a candidate feels that he has to boost himself by tearing another one down. Christie did not bring himself up in my eyes last night or his performance on Fox News Sunday this morning. Others did not feel the same apparently. I think that's why seeing things with your own eyes instead of through someone else's makes a difference.

Yes, I DO think Carly had a gripe, as the recent vote put her ahead of others that DID make the debate, and after all it IS the vote that counts (unless it's Chicagowink.png )

Draggigntree and Geee and Valin, the first thing that everyone out there seems to ignore or overlook or maybe not understand in all this is the base or root of Rubio's repeated assertion that Obama knows what he is doing. Its the same inability they all have to speak for conservative principles or what is a conservative.

The U.S. (America) has truly become a celebrity culture of 24 hour sound bites with no knowledge of history or understanding of our founding documents . Critical thinking is lost.

The second thing is that Washington and the liberal media do not understand the conservative base of the Republican party. They do not understand conservatives like Rush, Levin, Malkin, D'Souza, even Palin could be added here. Though she has greatly disappointed me - what the hey did she have to lose. The Republican establishment leadership has never supported her. From the beginning she was hated and ridiculed. While most of us out here held our nose and voted for McCain it was because of Sarah Palin.

There are reasons for political parties and reasons for differences.

Yes, Obama is incompetent

But he is also a confirmed leftist who thinks America is imperialistic. To me he is the most dangerous person ever put in the White House. His motto of Hope and Change is what its says - he hopes to change or transform America that we have always known and loved into something unrecognizable to the rest of us. One world government anyone? This is not an overnight occurrence but has been building for a 100+ years.

Now we are on the cusps - put another Democrat in and we are lost. Rubio (and I agree ) sounded rather shallow in all his repeated statements but lets not overlook the fact that he had a very few seconds to get a point across to the blind and deaf. Cruz could have done it better probably but did not do so or was not given the chance.

I know I quote Rush a lot but its easier than trying to rewrite my own thoughts and words because they are the same as Rush's on this mess:

“For the last seven years we've been led by people who do not believe in this country, do not like the way this country was founded, and they have gone about to change it. They have set about and they have succeeded to transform it, not just politically; culturally as well.”

“The Democrat Party no longer has any middle-of-the-roaders in it, it no longer has any centrists in it, it no longer has any moderates. They are total radicals now, and defined as radicals by people who have never liked the country.”

“There isn't a need for comprehensive immigration reform. There isn't a need for new law. It's all there. All we have to do is enforce it.”

“Obamacare was not designed to succeed. Obamacare was designed to create the very chaos, the very inequities, the very inequalities that we have so that one day, in total frustration, massive numbers of Americans would throw their hands up and say, ‘Look, just let the government do it.’”

“Who says Barack Obama's an expert in anything? Yet he's elected president. What's he an expert in? He taught constitutional law, he's not even an expert in the Constitution.”

“Socialism, communism, totalitarianism, whatever you want to call it, it's a demonstrable fraud. False promises, phony promises, impossible promises. Demonstrable failures throughout human history, and yet it continues to seduce people, and I'm convinced it does so by the expert usage of the fairness and equality and compassion arguments.”

“If you ask me, it's people like Barack Obama who are really cold-hearted and mean-spirited, but they get credit for all this compassion.”

"Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton pose a real threat to the future of this country. They pose a grave danger. Either one of them guarantees exactly the misery we have today, multiplied. No question about it. It's not possible for them to make life in America better, not even for the people who are going to be the beneficiaries of whatever it is they're passing out."

"Ted Cruz is not 'nasty,' and he's not heartless. It's the exact opposite, because he's a conservative. Conservatives are not nasty people, and they certainly are not mean-spirited or heartless.
