I do not think that Facebook has been clear enough about how they monetize their product. Going public makes no sense. No one really looks at Facebook advertising, so I don't think it can be monetized the way that Google adsense is. The money HAS to be in facebook aps and gaming and it seems to me that at some point, that so saturates the market it doesn't make sense.

It's a terrific tool for keeping tack of connections, no doubt about that. But those most enthusiastic about it are the ones that get it for free. Until I see some sort of logic behind it, there is no way that I would invest it in.

So count me as a fan of the service, not a fan of the IPO.

I recognize that smile anywhere. It's the smile that comes to you when you realize that a firearm is an artifact, a tool, and a challenge - and fun. Not an evil presence hiding in shadows that will make you do evil. It's a thing. Any other attributes it has are brought to the table by the user, not the artifact.

She also seems to be handling the recoil well, too. Not that there is a helluva lot of recoil with a 9mm subgun.

This just in from a friend in Afghanistan. I think of it as a warriors' prayer:

Stolen from a friend's post....

"Lord, make me fast and accurate. Let my aim be true and my hand faster than those who would seek to destroy me. Grant me Victory over my foes and those that wish to harm me and mine. Let not my last thought be "If only I had my gun"; and Lord if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in a pile of brass."

That’s what Barack and Michelle do, grab the hand, put the other hand on the arm or shoulder, and pull themselves into your private space, invading your space, forcing themselves on you. Look at every video/image of Obama and other foreign leaders, other politicians, especially those he does not like.

Valerie Jarrett, who knows everything, probably told them that is how they are supposed to greet other Heads of State and assorted dignitaries and their spouses.

Teenagers Hear Worse After Attending Concert

Seventy-two percent of teenagers experienced reduced hearing ability after a loud concert, new research found. This hearing loss isn't permanent, but repeated exposure to loud noise can be. Scissors-32x32.png

--------

In related news, scientists determined that water is still wet, the climate is always changing, and you will get hit by a car if you don't have on clean underwear.

How about a really good headline one that says "Old people's hearing improves after attending concert".

What?

I'm proud of you.....that was one of the "nicer" comments you could have picked. There are plenty of funny ones there though.....

They are bad influences on this young lad.

Phil Klein on Keeping Romney in Line

John Tabin

5.21.12

If you're familiar with our friend Phil Klein, whether through his work at the Washington Examiner over the past year or here at AmSpec in years past, you know that he's long been one of Mitt Romney's most dogged and incisive conservative critics. In his new ebook, Conservative Survival in the Romney Era, Phil takes a detailed look at how the right should relate to Romney as a nominee and (if he wins) as president -- how, in other words, to support him over Obama without giving Romney a pass. Phil considers how the CEO-like Romney responds to ideological pressure, examines the Bush-era votes on Medicare Part D and No Child Left Behind as a cautionary tale of a dynamic to avoid, sketches out an ambitious domestic policy agenda to serve as a yardstick for success, and, in anticipating the charge that he shouldn't be criticizing the GOP nominee during a critical election seasons, lays out a philosophy of ideological journalism as a distinct enterprise from partisan activism.

Product Description

"A 2012 campaign must-read" -- Michelle Malkin, bestselling author of Culture of Corruption.

"(M)ight be one of the most important books of the year. -- Matt Lewis, the Daily Caller.

Wow, @Valiin. My first thought when I saw that sign was that it had to be in the deep South. And then when I saw Oregon?! That is one brave person.

I think Obama is in trouble.

A very good friend of mine said recently, "This is a very strange election...both major parties have candidates that large parts of the base are unhappy with." I don't have to tell you about Romney, and how well loved he is. Large part of the Democrat base are not happy with the 4th best President, because he's not Left enough. I think the motto for this Presidental election is "Vote for me! I'm not the other guy."
