@Bret_Baier

A little anxious tonight. My 4 1/2 year old, Paul, goes in for his 5th angioplasty tomorrow. It always puts everything in perspective. He thinks he's going in to get extra superpowers - and I think he is too. ;).

Oh. Prayers up for the Baier family. Go get those superpowers little man!

Ditto from me. That really does put everything in perspective.

A federal judge sentenced former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to 14 years in prison nearly three years after he was arrested and charged with a wide-ranging corruption spree that included trying to auction off President Barack Obama's former Senate seat.

Bet he hopes Obama is one term for his pardon to be done more quickly.

Unfortunately, Rod has no money to bribe the One. Rezko will be able to contribute greatly to the 'Library' fund. To paraphrase, Obama has something golden and he is not going to just give it away.

Besides.....Blago tried to drag Barry and the Boys down with him. Dems are nothing if not vindictive.

Supreme Court rules no Nativity scene in DC

The Supreme Court has ruled that there cannot be a Nativity Scene in the United States' Capital this Christmas season.

This isn't for any religious reason. They simply have not been able to find Three Wise Men in the Nation's Capitol.

A search for a Virgin continues.

There was no problem, however, finding enough asses to fill the stable.

Man-Caused Disaster

December 7, 2011 3:42 P.M.

By Peter Kirsanow

Fox reports that during a joint session of the Senate and House Homeland Security Committee, Sen. Susan Collins and other Republicans are blasting the administration for referring to the Ft. Hood massacre as an incident of ”workplace violence.”

Yep. Must’ve been a disgruntled employee upset that he didn’t get a raise. Move along. Nothing else to see here.

Maybe a book deal would be lucrative for Blago. Would probably get a sizable advance. Would make some interesting reading if the Obama thugs allowed it to go to print. Regenery(sp) would probably be the only publisher to touch it.

Sad story in the metro Atlanta area the past few days has been the search for the person who abducted, raped, stabbed and killed a 7-year old girl in a Canton, GA apartment complex and hid her body in a dumpster. An arrest was made today of one of the apartment complex maintenance workers. A 20-year old creep.

When approached by reporters, the creep's brother stated "All I know, he ain’t did what people done say he did."

Obviously, book learning has not been a priority in their lifetime goals.

Marine writes about the other half of his K9 team, Sergeant Rex

120411-news-sergeant-rex-1-ss-662w.jpg

Sergeant Rex, seen hear after finding a cachet of weapons on the outskirts of Fallujah, has served three tours in Iraq.

Even after three tours in Iraq, even after stepping on a bomb, one of the longest-serving dogs in the U.S. military hasn’t quit the service. Sergeant Rex remains on duty today, stationed in Southern California.

The 10-year-old German shepherd and his handler, Marine Sgt. Mike Dowling, arrived in the Middle East in 2004, part of the first overseas deployment of military dog units since the Vietnam War. Rex went on to earn so much respect from his Marine comrades that they nicknamed him Sergeant Rex.

But battlefield success came at a cost. Rex suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder even as he continues to serve as a working dog at Camp Pendleton. He’s very jumpy at the sound of an explosion, Dowling said.

“Some dogs get PTSD so badly that they can have a heart attack and die just from the sound of a large explosion,” Dowling told The Daily. He said Rex stepped on a bomb during his second tour, but sustained only slight wounds because the bomb was buried too deep in the ground.

Dowling has written a book, “Sergeant Rex: The Unbreakable Bond Between a Marine and His Military Working Dog,” about his experience as Rex’s handler.

What a pair -- a marine and his excellent dog. That should be made into a poster and displayed at every Wall Street occupy site around the country.

Tennessee school board bows to ACLU demands.

Story here

Evolution gets a free pass.

I wonder what the ACLU would have thought about the course my high school offered on the study of the Bible as a piece of literature. Two semesters, one for the Old Testament and one for the New Testament. We didn't discuss faith, but you did have to read the Book.
