Gingrich: States should adopt Pell Grants for K-12 grades. Paul: Criticizes No Child Left Behind; people should have the right to opt out of the public system. Perry: Promote school choice. Goes after Romney again over Race to the Top. Romney: Education has to be held at the local and state level. Hire good teachers. Supports holding teachers accountable. Gingrich: Outsource E-verify to credit card companies. Modernize legal system for legal visitors. Romney: Criticizes in-state tuition for illegals in Texas. Turn off the magnet of benefits. Perry: We need to be educating children of illegals because otherwise they will be a drag on society. Santorum: Perry very weak on protecting the border.
