But now the United States has been included in the multicultural festivities, as jihadis have struck, albeit with limited results, in Wisconsin and Michigan. A Taliban spokesmen recently said: “Our fight is Jihad and an obligatory worship. And every obligatory act of worship has 70 times more reward in Ramadan.” Not just the Taliban believe that. Another likely believer in those special Ramadan rewards is a Muslim in Milwaukee named Mohamad Hamdan. Last Thursday, according to Fox6Now.com, Hamdan walked into the U.S. Courthouse in downtown Milwaukee and “began yelling loudly in an Arabic language,” screaming, among other things, “Muhammad,” “Allah,” and “jihad.” According to the criminal complaint against him, he suddenly put his hand into his pocket, which “caused security to fear for their immediate safety.” Hamdan had apparently imbibed well the Qur’an’s command to “strike terror in the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know whom Allah knows.” (Qur’an 8:60) And he wasn’t finished striking terror in the enemy of Allah. Escorted out of the building by a U.S. Marshal, Hamdan resumed screaming in Arabic, and said in English: “I’m gonna kill you all. Allah. The officials said the blitz attack began when a suicide car bomber rammed his vehicle into a checkpoint at a military compound in the southern Rafah village of El-Barth, followed by heavy gunfire from dozens of masked fighters on foot. The dead included a high ranking special forces officer, Col. Ahmed el-Mansi, and at least 20 others were wounded in the attack. Ambulance sirens were heard from a distance as they rushed to the site. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak to the media. On his official Facebook page, Army spokesman Tamer el-Rifai confirmed the attack and said that 26 army personnel were killed or injured in the attack, without providing a breakdown. He also said the army foiled attacks targeting a number of other checkpoints in southern Rafah and that 40 assailants were killed. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. However, Egypt in recent years has been battling a stepped-up insurgency in northern Sinai, mainly by figthers from an Islamic State group affiliate. Security officials said the militants arrived at the site of the checkpoint — located in a remote, deserted area — in some 24 Land Cruiser SUVs. The militants opened fire on the soldiers with machine guns for nearly half an hour, they said. The force at the compound is estimated at 60 troops. The motive behind the stabbing was unclear and the Interior Ministry said the attacker at the Red Sea resort was arrested immediately. “We don’t know his motives yet, he could be crazy or perturbed — it’s too early to tell,” a senior interior ministry official told AFP. Worth paying attention to one key phrase in an early Sky News report about the incident: A search is also ongoing for the dark-coloured vehicle which is said to have been driven at speed at the troops as they left their barracks to go on patrol. Patrick Poole December 22, 2017 Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating a shooting spree in Pennsylvania's state capital of Harrisburg earlier today. According to the area district attorney, it appears there were three sites where 51-year-old Ahmed Amin El-Mofty intentionally engaged police. One Pennsylvania State Trooper was injured. (Snip) The suspect was eventually shot and killed by police. Possible explosives were found on his body, which a bomb squad had to render inert. El-Mofty has been identified as a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Turkey. He had reportedly recently taken a trip to the Middle East. More on that later. "The incident took place after Friday prayers when dozens of demonstrators gathered outside the building and stormed it." Violent attacks on Christians usually take place on Friday evening, when Muslims stream out of mosques, having been incited to violence by imams. No such phenomenon exists with other religions. Note that the AP calls the attackers “demonstrators.” "The demonstrators chanted hostile slogans and called for the church’s demolition, the diocese in Atfih said. The demonstrators destroyed the church’s contents and assaulted Christians inside before security personnel arrived and dispersed them." Why was this church “unlicensed”? The explosion was quickly labeled an act of terrorism by Russian officials. Russian President Vladimir Putin described it as “terrorist attack” the following day, adding that he had instructed the Federal Security Service (FSB) to detain those responsible if possible. But Putin also gave the go ahead to use deadly force if security personnel or other lives were threatened. The bomb maker reportedly packed the device with shrapnel in order to maximize civilian casualties. An “explosive device stuffed with striking elements was detonated in the Gigant-Hall entertainment center on the first floor near self-storage lockers of the Perekrestok supermarket” on St. Petersburg’s Kondratyevsky Avenue, according to the Russian news agency TASS. Earlier today (two days after the blast), the Islamic State claimed via its Amaq News Agency and in another statement that its “covert unit” or “detachment” placed and detonated the device in “Crusader” Russia. * St. Petersburg has been targeted by jihadists throughout the year. Any student who refused to convert to Islam was stabbed, slashed with machetes, or beaten. Tensions had been building for months, forcing the staff at Jamhuri High School, a boarding school in the African country, to segregate the Christian and Muslim students into separate bathrooms, according to a Morning Star News report. Islamic students claimed that the school was discriminating against them, leading to the assault on Tuesday, January 23rd. The incident began when Muslim students began shouting at their classmates before they began their assault, trying to force the Christians to convert with threats of violence. If the Christians students refused, they were stabbed and beaten. One student spoke with Morning Star News on the condition of anonymity out of fear for his life. Sunday 18 February 2018 Russian news agency Tass reported that the gunman was shot dead by police after killing four worshippers and wounding four others in an attack in the town of Kizlyar. The gunman was armed with a hunting rifle and charged towards the church shouting "Allahu Akbar", the Arabic phrase meaning "God is Great", according to Father Pavel, the priest who had delivered the service. Amaq, the propaganda agency for Islamic State, claimed that the group was behind the attack, although it did not offer any evidence. Corey Johnson, 17, told the police he read the Koran “to give him courage” before going on the violent rampage during a sleepover at a friend’s home, and admitted that the attack was motivated by his “Muslim faith.” He confessed to fatally stabbing the boy and attacking two others, and is being charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. The FBI, Jupiter police, and Palm Beach County School District police had previously investigated Johnson after learning of his “violent tendencies” through “intelligence gathering,” according to the Palm Beach Post. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office apparently received information that Johnson had made attempts to connect with ISIS recruiters online and expressed a desire to join the terror group. The Sheriff’s office responded by tracking Johnson’s social-media accounts and whereabouts.
