Breaking news

Bloviator BOR guarantees that #2 will be charged with death penalty AND put to death. Geraldo concurs.

Edited to add:

if #2 were associated in any way to the TEA party or drove by an American flag held by a TEA party supporter I would agree with BOR. But not now.

Hot Air

Update: The likeliest legal outcome here, it seems to me, is the feds offer him life in prison if he gives them useful intelligence (especially vis-a-vis those other three people arrested) or death if he doesn’t. Either way, that’s a mixed bag. Intel would be great, but then we’re paying for decades and decades of prison for this degenerate. And if he gives us nothing and is sentenced to lethal injection, that’s a long, expensive process too. With little to show for it counterterror-wise.

Him being alive is mixed message. He might not talk. No waterboarding per Zero.He deserves to be put to a painful death. Copycats, fans to follow.

Give him 24 hours. Then a bullet...in every segment of his body....feet on up.

His aunt is an attorney...he will be protected. Big concerns and I don't know what they should do.

An officer evacuated a child from an area where a suspect was believed to be hiding on Franklin Street in Watertown.

What Cops Do!

Rest assured a lot of people are not going to be happy with the legal system in the next couple of days.

The two happiest days of a boat owner’s life is the day he buys a boat and the day he gets a terrorist out of it.

@Pepper!

They will spend a long time getting him well & then completely do the pooch with back-bending legal theater....because they like being thought of as just & correct.....when they are only poseurs that enjoy their reflection in the mirror of progressive world approval.

Better that he bled out & had some time to reflect on killing 4 people [including an 8 year old boy] & wounding 170...that led to his death, alone in a boat, after watching his brother die [& running over him to get away]...and knowing that his empty gesture did nothing for anyone of consequence.

Not sure if this has been posted, but the home owner who found him would have found him much earlier, except he stayed inside his house as "ordered". As soon as restriction was lifted he went out in yard and saw ripped boat cover and blood. So city on much longer lock down and resources wasted than if they had done "nothing".

I guess we know why the government has needed to order so many bullets after LA and now this. Many hundreds of rounds expended and no one killed by bullet. LA shootout of newspaper delivery truck (thankfully they did not kill them). The first bomber was hit, but sounds like it was his own explosive device or brother running over him that did him in.

Thanks for the play-by-play. We had to go to a dinner party and knew he was apprehended but knew no details. I knew I would learn what I wanted here!

It was much more exciting than could be captured here. It seemed to be touch and go for awhile. Happy for everyone that it is over.

old audio.

They gotta fill time.

Here's a crazy idea, instead of old audio and repeating them selves....why not have experts on terrorism on...you know inform the public?

Surprisingly enough not everyone obsesses on this like me.

Memo to MSM: How To Cover Terrorism: Find and Talk to Experts, Like John Burns, Leon Aron, Andrew McCarthy and Richard Grenell

Hugh Hewitt

4/19/13

The best way to cover breaking news when audience numbers swell but there is little in the way of real detail to add is for all media –from the oldest brand in MSM to the most recent account opener at Twitter– to provide context and background for the details that eventually do emerge.

I’ll try and do that Friday with interviews with the New York Times’ London bureau chief John F. Burns, AEI’s Leon Aron, the prosecutor of the Blind Sheik Andrew McCarthy and former chief spokesman for the U.S. Mission at the U.N. Richard Grenell. I’ll also talk with journalists and public intellectuals John Hinderaker of Powerline and Commentary’s John Podhoretz. I’ll wrap up the show by going back 2,500 years to the Athenians’ use of terror in a conversation with Hillsdale College’s Paul Rahe.

Transcripts of the interviews with Aron, Burns, Grenell and McCarthy will be posted as they become available at the Transcripts page, but this sort of journalism isn’t that hard to do, but it does require producers who know where to find experts worth hearing from and anchors/reporters willing to ask questions, e.g. Jake Tapper, Megyn Kelly, Bret Baier and Sean Hannity. HT to Duane, Adam and Danielle, and a note to MSM: You can’t have them.
