Virginia Van Zandt December 18 , 2021 Months after U.S. government flights ceased, 39 American citizens and legal permanent residents were rescued by a two-man covert team, flying on a privately funded plane out of Taliban-controlled Kabul. The group, sponsored by the non-profit Project Dynamo, is expected to land at New York’s John F. Kennedy International airport by 9 AM on Saturday morning. “They did encounter the Taliban, but luckily…I don’t know how far I want to get into that,” said James Judge, a spokesperson for Project Dynamo, to Zenger. The nonprofit supplied photos and videos documenting their successful escape. (Snip) (Snip) Bryan Stern and Abdul Wasit board a flight to Kabul, Afghanistan on December 15th, 2021.
