Valin
Alpha News Pai’s announcement comes one day after Twitter prohibited users from posting links to a New York Post story about alleged emails involving Hunter Biden. Andrew Kerr October 15, 2020 Federal Communication Commission Chairman Ajit Pai announced Thursday that he intends to move forward with a rulemaking to “clarify” the meaning of Section 230 of the Communication Decency Act. Pai’s announcement comes one day after Twitter prohibited users from posting links to a New York Post story about alleged emails involving Hunter Biden, former Vice President Joe Biden and the Ukrainian gas company Burisma. Twitter’s suppression of the story led President Donald Trump to call for the repeal of Section 230, which indemnifies internet companies from liability over content posted by their users. “Social media companies have a First Amendment right to free speech,” Pai said in a statement Thursday. “But they do not have a First Amendment right to a special immunity denied to other media outlets, such as newspapers and broadcasters.” (Snip) (Snip)
