Worshippers Kidnapped in Gaza Mosque over Islamic Jihad Internal Conflict

Internal conflict within the ranks of Gaza’s Islamic Jihad has triggered widespread criticism and drew humiliation for the group after one of its armed gangs stormed a mosque during dawn prayers.

Gunmen arrested a number of their comrades while they were worshipping at a mosque in southern Gaza.

A fierce exchange of fire ensued at Al-Ansar mosque in Khan Younis, local sources reported.

Worshippers at the scene were shocked after 15 Islamic Jihad militants broke into the mosque while wearing their boots to arrest a number of people in the congregation.

Those apprehended were taken to Islamic Jihad centers, where they were tortured.
