Former Rep. Ron Paul 'doing fine' after apparent medical emergency on livestream

Former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, who ran for president three times, said he's doing fine Friday after he suffered an apparent medical emergency that afternoon while he was speaking in a livestreamed video.

A photo of the former congressman from Texas sitting in a hospital bed and flashing a thumbs-up was posted on his official Twitter account just before 3 p.m. ET. Paul, a libertarian, is 85 years old.

The accompanying message: "I am doing fine. Thank you for your concern."
