Growing signs that mass mail-in voting is going to be a disaster

Most of the media keep waving off any suggestion that mass-scale mail-in balloting could prove a disaster this November. But what if the bungling already seen here in deep-blue New York also happens in Florida, Pennsylvania or some other swing state?

Remember: It was Democratic officials who produced the infamous “butterfly ballot” in Florida in 2000 — turning normal, in-person voting into a confusing mess.

The snafu’d New York ballots that went out marked as “military absentee” rather than “military/absentee” are confusing many citizens — who may fail to vote as a result. And sending incorrectly addressed return envelopes may yet mess with the count, even if Board of Election officials get the right ones off.

Blaming vendors is all well and good — but these are huge red flags of serious quality-control issues. As Jiong Wang of Brooklyn Heights told The Post, “This is not stoking confidence in the election system.”:snip:

Have no fear they'll be found around 11:00 pm election day and (SURPRISE) 94% of them will be for Joe Biden.

@Geee

Look back at the Coleman v Franken race in 2008. Coleman was winning quite nicely, when Surprise "misplaced" votes were found  in trunks of cars...backrooms that was enough to give Al the win.

(The Center Square) – A Democratic candidate for mayor of Carrollton, Texas has been arrested on over 100 counts of alleged voter fraud.

“I strongly commend the Denton County Sheriff’s Office, the Lewisville Police Department, and Texas Department of Public Safety as well as the Denton Elections and District Attorney’s offices for their outstanding work on this case and their commitment to ensuring a free and fair Presidential election in the face of unprecedented voter fraud,” Attorney General Paxton said in a statement.

More election mail winds up in a dumpster in Pennsylvania

Jazz Shaw

4:31 pm on October 14, 2020

In lieu of an exit question, let’s kick this off with an entrance question. Has this sort of thing been going on all the time but nobody bothered reporting on it? Because it’s starting to become something of a habit. This episode of the new hit show Which Mailman Is Trashing Your Mail Now takes place in the Bloomfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The story starts at a mental health clinic called the Persad Center. The manager of the facility was taking out some trash recently and when he opened up the garbage receptacles he was surprised to see a bunch of what appeared to be unopened mail. Closer inspection revealed that none of the envelopes and parcels were addressed to his facility, but to other homes and businesses in the neighborhood. The manager alerted the authorities and an investigation began, leading to the suspension of the postal carrier who covered that route. (Penn Live)

So returning to the question I raised at the top, how much of this is going on? I don’t recall ever going through stretches where may mail went missing, but perhaps I’ve just led a fortunate life. In 2018 a postal carrier in Brooklyn was arrested after it was discovered that he had hoarded more than 18,000 pieces of mail over a period of ten years. He claimed he was simply “overwhelmed” by the amount of mail he had to deliver. That same year another mailman in North Carolina was fired after he was caught on camera dumping hundreds of pieces of mail into a dumpster. The following year, another carrier in Milwaukee was canned for the same thing.

Are these scattered exceptions to the rule or is there more of this going on than we know? How many people who do this are never caught? I’d like to think the system is more secure than all of this makes it sound. But if not, perhaps focusing on the problems that might be caused in this single election year with so many people doing mail-in voting is the wrong issue to address. There are always some absentee ballots, even when we’re not dealing with a plague. Has the process been damaged all along?

Nothing to See Here: USPS Worker Fired for Dumping 112 Absentee Ballots

:snip:A U.S. postal worker in Kentucky has been fired and could face charges after attempting to dump more than 100 absentee ballots, according to local news outlets.

The United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General said the unidentified postal worker is “no longer employed” after the ballots were found amid a pile of discarded mail in a dumpster on Thursday, according to WKYT.

“The case has been accepted for federal prosecution by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Special Agent Scott Balfour wrote in a statement. “They will determine what charges are appropriate after a review of all the facts in the case.”

WKYT reported Thursday that a person found a pile of discarded mail that included 112 absentee ballots and two political advertisements. The ballots were supposed to be sent to the Jeffersontown, Ky., area.:snip:

Will Voter Fraud Swing the Election?

John Hinderaker

October 19, 2020

As in 2016, polling is tightening as we near Election Day and voters begin to take seriously the prospect of a Joe Biden presidency and an anti-American Senate. I am reasonably optimistic that President Trump may be re-elected, but a cloud hangs over this year’s election–the cloud of voter fraud.

In many states, millions of ballot applications have been mailed to people on outdated registered voter lists. Millions of those applications will result in ballots being returned, but how many of them are actually mailed in by legitimate voters is unknown. Meanwhile, ballot harvesting has become routine. Ballot harvesters dump hundreds of filled-out ballots into mail boxes. Who filled them out? Who knows? Moreover, in urban areas across the country, Democratic Party dominance has led to a monopoly, or virtual monopoly, of Democrats among those who will count the ballots and resolve disputes.

So the risk that 2020’s election will be decided by voter fraud is real. If you want to learn more about this critical issue, and what conservatives can still do to preserve an honest election, you should tune in to a program on election integrity that Center of the American Experiment, which I run, will present on Thursday. The event will feature an all-star panel of election integrity experts who will discuss the threat of voter fraud–how extensive it is, and what can be done about it. They include:

* Eric Eggers, author of Fraud: How the Left Plans to Steal the Next Election, published in 2018.

* Andy Cilek, President of the Minnesota Voters’ Alliance, the organization that has exposed and fought against election insecurity in Minnesota for the last decade, and which not long ago won a case in the U.S. Supreme Court.

* Matthew Tyrmand, Director of Project Veritas, who oversaw PV’s undercover investigation of voter fraud in Minneapolis.

* Mary Kiffmeyer, former Secretary of State of Minnesota and current state Senator.

I will moderate the discussion, and we will take questions from the audience. The event will be focused in part on Minnesota, but both Eric Eggers and Matthew Tyrmand bring a national perspective. I hope that this will be the most comprehensive and well-informed discussion of election integrity that you can see anywhere in 2020.

The event will also be livestreamed on Zoom, so you can watch it no matter where you live. This is the link. Just go there shortly before 6 p.m. Central time on Thursday. And the video will be archived thereafter, so you can watch it at your convenience.

Judicial Watch Finds 1.8 Million ‘Extra’ Voters

Registered voters exceed the number of eligible voters in 353 U.S. counties

Alex Nester

October 20, 2020 3:00 PM

More than 350 U.S. counties have more registered voters than people eligible to vote, resulting in 1.8 million "extra" voters, according to a new Judicial Watch study.

By comparing publicly available voter registration data with the most recent Census Bureau population numbers, Judicial Watch found that statewide voter registration in eight states—Alaska, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Vermont—exceeds 100 percent of eligible voters. Loving County, Texas, had the highest number of excess voters, with a registration rate of 187 percent.

Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said the report highlights a problem specific to mail-in voting: Many election officials automatically send ballots or ballot applications to everyone on the list of registered voters without first removing the "ghost" voters.

"The new study shows 1.8 million excess or ‘ghost' voters in 353 counties across 29 states," Fitton said in a statement. "The data highlights the recklessness of mailing blindly ballots and ballot applications to voter registration lists. Dirty voting rolls can mean dirty elections."

No Signature Match? No Postmark? No Problemo! It's This Week in Ballot Shenanigans!

When last we left you, Dear Reader, we were dumpster-diving for ballots, navigating the depths of a 15-yard box for the 100 stale beer and coffee ground-stained ballots dumped by some malevolent (or lazy) postal worker in Kentucky. This week, another 99 ballots and hundreds of pieces of first-class mail were found dumped by yet another postal worker, this one in New Jersey.

Both ballot-tossing layabouts are being prosecuted by the feds, but it’s unknown at this point if this is their first ballot-tossing caper or just their latest ballot-tossing caper.

It’s hard to judge what’s worse, some disgruntled postal worker tossing ballots or Pennsylvania accepting and counting all ballots – even ones that have no identifying information, the right postmark, and mailed after the election.

We’ll start with the story that made headlines recently when Pennsylvania authorities tossed out 372,000 ballot applications.:snip:
