All Nine Intel Republicans Demand that Adam Schiff Step Down from Committee

Recommended Posts

Every Republican on the House Intelligence Committee called on Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) to step down as chairman on Thursday, citing his repeated claims of having evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia.

In a letter addressed to Schiff, the nine Republicans on the committee accused the California congressman of being "at the center of a well-orchestrated media campaign" and abusing his position "to knowingly promote false information."

“Your actions both past and present are incompatible with your duty as Chairman of this Committee,” the letter stated. “We have no faith in your ability to discharge your duties in a manner consistent with your Constitutional responsibility and urge your immediate resignation as Chairman of this Committee.”

They confronted Schiff in person during an Intel Committee hearing Thursday morning, slamming him for continuing to proclaim to the media that there is significant evidence of collusion despite the Mueller report's findings that neither President Trump nor anyone on his campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russians to win the 2016 election.
