WestVirginiaRebel
The Blaze On Sunday, the New York Post made it very clear how they felt about New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio leaving his city responsibilities to go to Germany for the G20 Summit. With a picture of de Blasio smiling, the Post wrote in big bold letters: “Deutsch bag.” The headline was a play on the common American insult “douche bag.” View image on Twitter Follow New York Post ✔@nypost Today's cover: De Blasio skipped a vigil honoring slain NYPD Officer Miosotis Familia to praise police in Germany http://nyp.st/2uYiuoE 7:54 AM - 9 Jul 2017 617617 Retweets 684684 likes Twitter Ads info and privacy “Mayor feeds his ego in Germany after fleeing a city in mourning,” the cover’s subheading read. De Blasio was heavily criticized over the weekend and late last week after he abruptly left New York City to attend G20 Summit activities, including many of the anti-capitalist protests that eventually devolved into riots. The mayor left the city at a time when it was mourning the loss of a New York Police Department patrol officer who had been assassinated as she sat in her patrol car in the Bronx just one day prior. De Blasio also opted to skip the swearing in ceremony for a new class of NYPD officers by traveling to Germany. In response, New Yorkers scorched de Blasio for leaving. New York State Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis, a Republican who is likely challenging de Blasio for his job this later this year, blasted him for leaving the city for Germany. “Unbelievable. Instead of jet-setting around the world, he should be here doing his job,” she said. “A police officer was murdered, street homelessness has skyrocketed and people continue to get delayed on the trains.” “The mayor should be embarrassed by the way he has treated the men and women of our police department,” she added. ________ Bill De Bozo, the invisible Mayor.
