(CNSNews.com) – A vote on a revised Republican health care bill could come this week, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), a member of the House Freedom Caucus, told CNN’s “New Day” on Monday.
“Look, I feel this is a pretty darn good bill that we made better because we engaged in the debate.”
Jordan said the bill eliminates Obamacare tax increases right away; it sets up a work requirement for able-bodied adults in the Medicaid expansion population; and it sets up an option for states to waive Obamacare regulations that are driving up premium costs for middle-class families.
“I think, when you look at those (provisions), this is the best bill we can get out of the House,," Jordan said. "But frankly, we should be clear, this is not repeal of Obamacare. If it was repeal, you wouldn’t need the waiver option for states to seek. So we have to be clear with the voters about that and continue to work on it.”
