George Soros and other rich liberals who spent tens of millions of dollars trying to elect Hillary Clinton are gathering in Washington for a three-day, closed door meeting to retool the big-money left to fight back against Donald Trump.

 

The conference, which kicked off Sunday night at Washington’s pricey Mandarin Oriental hotel, is sponsored by the influential Democracy Alliance donor club, and will include appearances by leaders of most leading unions and liberal groups, as well as darlings of the left such as House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Congressional Progressive Caucus co-chairman Keith Ellison, according to an agenda and other documents obtained by POLITICO.

 

The meeting is the first major gathering of the institutional left since Trump’s shocking victory over Hillary Clinton in last week’s presidential election, and, if the agenda is any indication, liberals plan full-on trench warfare against Trump from Day One. Some sessions deal with gearing up for 2017 and 2018 elections, while others focus on thwarting President-elect Trump’s 100-day plan, which the agenda calls “a terrifying assault on President Obama’s achievements — and our progressive vision for an equitable and just nation.”

Soros Prepares For Trump War

 

 

George Soros and his fellow liberal mega-donors are currently readying the post-Hillary Clinton Democratic party to oppose President-Elect Donald Trump.

 

According to Politico, Soros and other key members of the so-called “Democracy Alliance” met in Washington, DC at the Mandarin Oriental hotel on Sunday for the first day of the group’s three-day investment conference.

 

The Democracy Alliance has funneled upwards of $500 million toward liberal activist groups and candidates since Soros co-founded the group in 2005.

 

DA requires all members — which in 2016 includes more than 100 “finance titans” — to donate at least $200,000 a year to approved activist groups.

They sabotaged the primary against Bernie Sanders.” (Jenkins said he voted for Jill Stein.)

Clark, the Portland anarchist, also didn’t back Clinton. He voted for Sean Swain in the presidential election, an anarchist running from a super-maximum-security prison. “If he’s elected, he’ll burn down the White House and make every day a national holiday, effectively abolishing work. He’s my candidate,” Clark said. (Clark denied that members of his organization had damaged property in Portland or been arrested, but added, “We do not condemn the actions anyone took tonight.” Local police didn’t disclose whether they had arrested any members of the group.)

Shellshocked Dems mull a path forward

 

Shellshocked Democrats, struggling to pick up the pieces in the aftermath of a dismaying election, return to Washington Monday mulling the party's future –– and what went wrong at the polls.

 

While Democrats gained at least six seats in the lower chamber, that number fell well short of the double-digit gains they'd expected. Those results led to plenty of finger pointing as to why the party's message failed to resonate more broadly, particularly with the working-class, white voters who propelled Donald Trump into the White House and sustained the GOP's majorities in both congressional chambers.

In the eyes of some lawmakers, the Democrats have no one to blame but themselves.

 

"I don't think we had any teeth in the message," said Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.). "We failed to understand that white men –– basically labor people, working people –– have to be part of our universe. And if we don't make them a part of our universe, we're going to continue to have a difficult time."

Obama to speak with DNC members on Monday call

 

President Obama plans to host a conference call Monday afternoon with members of the Democratic National Committee, which is grappling with a crushing election defeat and growing tension between party leaders.

 

Obama, who will depart Monday for his final international trip as president, is likely to discuss the upcoming race to replace DNC interim chair Donna Brazile and changes the party will need to make as it looks ahead to Trump's presidency and the 2018 midterm elections. The call was first reported by Politico.

 

Defeated Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton will hold a separate call with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic lawmakers on Monday.

Democracy Alliance Hosts Anti-Israel Advocate Who Glorified Child Terrorists

 

The Democracy Alliance, a shadowy organization of wealthy progressive donors, hosted this week at its secret meeting a prominent anti-Israel advocate who has come under fire for glorifying child terrorists and criticizing Zionism, according to a list of speakers at the group’s Washington, D.C., gathering.

 

Linda Sarsour, a Palestinian-American activist who has long been critical of Israel, spoke Monday at the Democracy Alliance’s three-day gathering, according to program information first published by Politico’s Kenneth Vogel.

 

Sarsour, who was dubbed by the Obama administration as a “champion of change,” has often come under fire for her views on Israel and defense of terrorism.

 

Sarsour claimed in 2012 that the New York Police Department manufactured evidence against American-Muslims to create terrorism charges, according to comments at the time.

 

“The cases that they have supposedly foiled, we believe many of those cases are entrapment cases,” Sarsour said. “We believe that the NYPD informants actually manufacture these cases so they can justify the funding that comes to the NYPD.”

New York billionaire George Soros dumped $147,000 into Georgia Safety & Justice, an independent-expenditure committee registered on Aug. 26, aimed at defeating Mr. McCord and electing his opponent, Democrat Darius Pattillo.

 

After recovering from the shock, Mr. McCord, a former prosecutor in Clayton and Newton counties, did what he thought was best for himself and the party: He dropped out of the race, allowing Mr. Pattillo to run unopposed.

 

“It was horrible,” said Mr. McCord, a lawyer in private practice in McDonough. “They rented space, they had a staff, they were using a Washington, D.C.-based PR firm. So what I knew was they could say whatever they wanted to say about me. It didn’t matter if it was true, and I would have no way to respond.”
