Tonight’s presidential debate will begin at 9 p.m. Eastern. It will be televised by just about everybody except NBC, which will carry Sunday Night Football. The debate will be at Washington University, will be in a town hall format, and will be moderated by Martha Raddatz and Anderson Cooper.

One way or another, news will be made tonight. It could be one of the strangest evenings in recent history. Will Trump self-destruct? Or will he be able to dig himself out from the hole in which he finds himself? Will Hillary skate, or will the moderators put the heat equally on her? (Just kidding on that one.)

So, what better way to enjoy debate night than in the company of hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of fellow conservatives? Just go to Power Line Live and join the conversation, or, if you prefer, just watch what others are saying about the debate in real time.

So far the first question is a set up for getting the video out there -- Hillary is the biggest hypocrite in the history of mankind.

Whew. Well, I think Trump came better prepared, and certainly came ready to fight. Hillary was on defense, repeatedly talking about what she'd "done" in the past.

Trump did a great job. Nailed everything but the Syria answer and covered all her issues except the Foundation. He had some really strong zingers. She said pretty much the same thing as last debate. He was much much improved. I said he lost last one, he won this one.

Now the question is how important is the 11 year old "private chat" between "boys" on things. The media thinks it is HUGE. Most people I talked to this weekend (football game), mainly men, but both libs and conservatives, laughed about guy talk. Meanwhile, especially as the night went on, they were saying worse things while "checking" out the women at the game and bars.

Luntz group for what it is worth... Before Leaning: Hillary: 8 • Trump: 9 AFTER DEBATE • Hillary: 4 • Trump: 18

He just said it is the biggest swing he has seen in a debate this year (not sure if he is including just the 2 pres and vp or others too).

Well, folks, it ain't over yet. The fat lady did not sing. Trump controlled the direction last night and focused on the issues that we are concerned about - little things like nukes and terrorism etc. Speaking of terrorism the take down last night in Germany pretty well vindicates Trump's Syrian refugee meaning - whether he had an answer for Syria itself or not and Iran attacking our naval ships once again puts the 0 and Hillary's "diplomacy" position into perspective.

Oh, after much reflection I apologize for my politically incorrect statement about the fat woman. It was bullying and sexist and some might even think I meant Hillary - I DID NOT but then I should not have even had such an evil old saying pop in my mind.

Sorry Peeps. Could absolutely not watch the whole thing. To me it was like watching a race to the bottom. Who could prove who was the worst person. I really wish that someone would tell him not to sniff in the microphone.

This morning more wiki leaks about Hillary and rumors from her camp that more tapes from him to come. Sigh.

Hillary - please don't mention Lincolns nameangry.png

America In The Gutter

Shane Goldmacher at Politico says it is the “Ugliest Debate Ever.” Yeah – pretty well sums it up. The Norks have nukes, Syria is a nightmare, Obamacare is devastating average American budgets and our candidates are arguing about who is a bigger sexual predator, the aspiring president or the husband and former president of the other candidate. Living in drought-stricken California, I am not sure I can get a shower long enough to clean this stuff off.

Whatever you do, do not believe the spin. We’re in uncharted territory here. No one knows what happened last night, no one knows what’s going to happen today, and sure-as-shootin’ no one knows what is going to happen election day. Honestly, the only thing we can know is that this is ugly.

The only reaction I find suitable to the current electoral state of affairs in our nation is grief.

Yesterday I wrote about the restoration of the Christian voice in American public affairs. I blamed the church for its loss. I am honestly beginning to wonder if it is not time to “shake the dust off our feet.” No, I am not proposing leaving the country, but I do wonder if the soil is fertile here anymore.

Fact is there is going to be a president elected, and the nation will continue. But something deep has changed in the nation – much deeper than politics or media...........(Snip)

There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”
