Charlotte, N.C., erupted into a riot Tuesday night after hundreds of people gathered to protest the fatal shooting of a black man.

According to police, officers were serving a warrant when they encountered Keith Lamont Scott in his car. Police say Scott got out of his car with a gun and was shot because he posed an immediate threat.

But, according to demonstrators on the scene and supporters online, Scott was a disabled man who was simply holding a book and was no threat when he was gunned down. Soon after the shooting, people began to gather, and they soon swelled to a crowd of hundreds and began clashing with riot police.

“We out like the Taliban!” one rioter could be heard crying on a Facebook Live broadcast of the protests, shortly after tear gas canisters were fired into the crowd. After 11 p.m., the situation grew more severe, with several people successfully trashing a police SUV.Scissors-32x32.png

Charlotte: 12 cops injured in riots protesting shooting of a black man by a black cop

Morons who are short on details but long on stupidity rioted for racial equality when a black man was shot by a cop that turned out to be black.

(Snip)

Of course, the rioting idiots didn’t wait to discover that the cop was also black, they just assumed it was racially motivated. It really undermines the narrative when the cop shooting the guy happens to be black too. But as we all know, most of these rioters can care less about “racial inequality,” they’ve just been propagandized to outrage and destruction by the lies of the “black lives matter” movement.

(Snip)

Funny, they don’t mention how they were yelling, “f**k the police” in this account, as was reported by a journalist at the scene here.

Here’s more video:

Riots in Charlotte Injure Police Officers, Damage Private Property

Posted by Kemberlee Kaye Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 1:00pm

Is “he had a book” the new “hands up don’t shoot” mantra?

Tuesday night Charlotte police shot and killed an African-American man later identified as Keith Lamont Scott.

A woman claiming to be Scott’s daughter says Scott was unarmed, reading a book when he was shot and killed. Officers say that story is false, that they recovered a handgun and there was no book to be found.

Following the shooting, hundreds crowded into streets and freeways to protest police brutality, maintaining Scott was unarmed, equipped with nothing but a book.

Sixteen police officers were injured in the riots, though all injuries were minor. There were reports of injured motorists after protestors began throwing rocks, traffic cones, and bottles from interstate overpasses onto traffic beneath, reported the Charlotte Observer. Protestors looted a local WalMart, which was closed at the time.

Riots over police shooting engulf Charlotte for 2nd straight night

Violence erupted in parts of downtown Charlotte on Wednesday as anger continued to build over the deadly police shooting of a black man and the different stories about what happened from authorities and the victim’s family and neighbors.

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory declared a state of emergency and called in the National Guard after Charlotte’s police chief said he needed the help.

"Any violence directed toward our citizens or police officers or destruction of property should not be tolerated," McCrory said in a statement. "I support and commend the law enforcement officials for their bravery and courage during this difficult situation."

What started out as a prayer vigil turned into an angry march and then a night of violence after a man was shot and critically wounded as protesters charged police in riot gear trying to protect an upscale hotel. Police initially said the man had died, but later corrected the statement saying he was on life support. Police didn’t shoot the man, city officials said.Scissors-32x32.png

MEET THE BLACK CHARLOTTE POLICE OFFICER WHO SHOT KEITH LAMONT SCOTT

We wrote here about Keith Lamont Scott and his long criminal record which includes assault convictions and gun offenses. But what about Brentley Vinson, the black police officer who fatally shot Scott?

The Charlotte Observer provides this profile of Officer Vinson. From it, we learn that he grew up in Charlotte, was a football star in high school, and dreamed of becoming a police officer like his father.

Vinson was all-conference in football as a high school junior, but was unable to play during his senior year due to a serious knee injury. The next year, he played at a prep school, earning a scholarship to Liberty University.

At Liberty, Vinson studied criminal justice. He became a captain of the football team and led it in tackles as a senior in 2012.

In 2014, Vinson joined the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police force. He has not been subject to any disciplinary action, according to personnel records released by the police department.Scissors-32x32.png

Charlotte Had Racial Harmony. Then BLM and Nation of Islam Thugs Came

A black leader from the Nation of Islam is calling for an economic boycott of the city of Charlotte. “Since black lives don’t matter in the city, then our black dollars shouldn’t matter,” he said:

Look at what was on display last night. It looked like something that resembled something you see in a third world nation like Haiti. It didn’t represent the good city of Charlotte, North Carolina, here in the United States. You saw a primitive behavior on display at best, and at worse, you saw subhuman behavior as people just reacted to circumstances. Rioting, looting, is not a socially acceptable response to people’s frustration.

As a resident of Charlotte, I agree with Clarke 100 percent.Scissors-32x32.png

Who Is Behind The Riots? Charlotte Police Says 70% Of Arrested Protesters Had Out Of State IDs

Confirming what many had suspected when viewing the sudden and intense collapse into anrchy that occurred in Charlotte this week, Todd Walther, spokesman for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Fraternal Order of Police told CNN's Erin Burnett:

"This is not Charlotte that's out here. These are outside entities that are coming in and causing these problems. These are not protestors, these are criminals."

"We've got the instigators that are coming in from the outside. They were coming in on buses from out of state. If you go back and look at some of the arrests that were made last night. I can about say probably 70% of those had out-of-state IDs. They're not coming from Charlotte."

As shocking as this statement is, it should not be a total surprise. 18 months ago, as the riots flared in Ferguson, there was one man pulling the strings of this 'domestic false flag'... George Soros. In an apparent effort to "keep the media’s attention on the city and to widen the scope of the incident to focus on interrelated causes — not just the overpolicing and racial discrimination narratives that were highlighted by the news media in August," liberal billionaire George Soros donated $33million to social justice organizations which helped turn events in Ferguson from a local protest into a national flashpoint.Scissors-32x32.png

REPORT: Keith Lamont Scott shot handgun at Texas officers in 2005

Via Billy

The friends and family of Keith Lamont Scott, the African-American Charlotte man shot and killed by police this week, portray him as a “family man” and “likable.” However, new details are emerging about Scott’s troubled past, his many encounters with law enforcement, and the reason behind his six year stay in a Bexar County, Texas prison just a decade ago.

Scott had a long police record that included gun violations. Christian Times Newspaper has learned, and it has been confirmed by the Charlotte Observer, that Scott was convicted in April 2004 of a misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon charge in Mecklenburg County, and other charges were dismissed: including felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault on a female, and communicating threats. Scott was also charg Scissors-32x32.pnged with assault with intent to kill in 1995.

New Information In Charlotte Police Shooting Undercuts Prevailing Narrative

New information has emerged in the police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott that, if accurate, undercuts the prevailing narrative about the Charlotte man who was shot and killed by police.

The gun that police say the 43-year-old Scott had on him at the time of last Tuesday’s shooting was reportedly stolen in a residential burglary, news station WBTV reports.

As a felon, Scott, who was black, was legally prohibited from owning a firearm, much less a stolen one. Police also said that they observed Scott smoking marijuana in his vehicle and then wielding a gun outside of his apartment complex before he was approached by officers.Scissors-32x32.png

Investigation confirms absence of wrongdoing in Charlotte shooting
Paul Mirengoff
November 30, 2016

In September, rioting broke out in Charlotte, North Carolina after a black police officer shot and killed Kenneth Lamont Scott. Mr. Scott was an African-American who, according to the police, pulled a gun and refused to drop it. From the beginning, the shooting looked justified, but we couldn’t tell for sure until the matter was thoroughly investigated.

Now, with the investigation complete, it is clear that there was no wrongdoing in the shooting of Mr. Scott. Today, Mecklenburg District Attorney Andrew Murray laid out the evidence in what the Charlotte Observer describes as “painstaking detail.”

(Snip)

Because of the sensitivity of the case, District Attorney Murray presented the evidence to 15 veteran prosecutors in his office. The 15 included two African-Americans and one Latino. The prosecutors were unanimous in their recommendation that there was insufficient evidence to charge the African-American officer who shot Scott.

Will new rioting follow the decision not to charge the officer? The authorities fear that it will. They have mobilized specialized units, including the riot squad.

Fortunately, Scott’s family does not seem interested in fanning the flames. So perhaps the city will be spared.

But for a dysfunctional minority community egged on, quite possibly, by professional left-wing agitators, the city would have been spared the first time around.
