Bill Clinton: Email Controversy Is the ‘Biggest Load of Bull’

Taking questions from reporters at an event in Las Vegas Friday evening, former President Bill Clinton said what he really thinks about the whole email controversy swirling around Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, saying the whole scandal is the “biggest load of bull.”

 

The former commander in chief was supposed to be concluding the session, but insisted on remaining to answer one more question at the Asian American Journalists Association national convention. The questioner, who identified himself as a Democrat who loves Bill Clinton and would be voting for Hillary Clinton in November, asked why Americans should trust the Democratic nominee when she lied about her emails, CNN reported.

 

Bill Clinton insisted none of the reporting about the issue was true before offering a fiery defense on his spouse’s behalf.

 

“First of all, the FBI director said when he testified before Congress, he had to amend his previous day’s statement that she had never received any emails that are classified,” he said. “They saw two little notes with a ‘C’ on it — this is the biggest load of bull I ever heard — that were about telephone calls that she needed to make and the State Department typically puts a little ‘C’ on it to discourage people from discussing it in public in the event the secretary of state, whoever it is, doesn’t make a phone call.”

 

The ex-president went on to tell the questioner that the system for dealing with classified emails is “too complicated to explain to people,” adding that it’s clear the former secretary of state was never careless with sensitive information that could impact national security.

 

“Do you really believe there are 300 career diplomats because that’s how many people were on these emails, all of whom were careless with national security? Do you believe that?” Bill Clinton asked. “Forget about Hillary, forget about her. Is that conceivable?”
