Pelosi Docs Show Dems Trying Hard To Cast Benghazi As A ‘Conspiracy Theory’

August 31, 2016

From The Daily Caller:

New documents released from Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi’s computer by purported hacker Guccifer 2.0, reveal democratic talking points to counter Republican Benghazi attacks.

The document casts the controversy surrounding Benghazi as “Legitimate outrage over the deaths of American diplomats mixed with partisanship.” The document also admits that then Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice gave “gave incorrect information on television” in the immediate aftermath of the attack.

The document’s central talking points revolve around ignoring the facts revealed by congressional investigations, and instead on rhetorical flourishes that emphasize patriotism. Scissors-32x32.png

Well the FBI release is pretty miserable.

She says she does not remember dozens of times when confronted with emails and stuff and says she assumed she would not be sent classified info by anyone as they "knew" her email was not a .gov account. (someone really has to focus on email details to see email addresses these days if you receive or get forwarded email as the software usually shows their name).

She does not remember her briefings when leaving on preserving documents because..... she had A CONCUSSION!

She says she does not recall getting a security briefing yet there is a signed US document from 2009 saying she did.

Two records of all her emails (one a laptop and another a usb stick) both disappeared in the mail....

Her server was completely wiped with special software just weeks after it become public news it was going to be requested....

Chairman Jason Chaffetz On The House Hearings Ahead For Team Hillary And FBI
Hugh Hewitt

Audio

(Snip)

HH: Let me go to another detail. This one was new to me, that the Pagliano server and the PRN, the Platte River Network servers, were stored at the Equinix facility in Secaucus, New Jersey. Now I didn’t know that. I assume you did know that. But do we have any idea whether they have security protocols in place governing the people that work there?

JC: No. One of my biggest concerns is that what the FBI provided to us, the names of the people, some of the details of this were classified, were redacted. Now there’s no classification here. By their very definition, these are not covert operators. They did not have security clearances. And that’s why we want to get to and know who these people are, what did they do, when did they do it. There’s a lot of questions that I think our letters out later today will help clarify.

HH: Yeah, there’s also a reference to another company, Datto, that had a backup device in Connecticut that took multiple snapshots of Hillary’s server system daily with a retention period of 60 days. Do we know any, had you, did you know anything about Datto?

JC: There are at least three other companies that we have not yet mentioned, again, all outside purveyors that were able to touch this. My concern, one of the biggest flaws that Hillary Clinton did is took classified information, some of it so secure and sensitive that even I as the chairman of the Oversight Committee do not have the proper security clearance to see, because it, they’re very compartmentalized, the Special Access Program stuff. But they don’t have security clearance, and she granted them the security clearance without the authorization, without the background checks. And who knows what they did with this material, because the FBI didn’t recover any of the actual phones themselves, and it begs a lot of questions of what these IT people did, didn’t do, where are the backups, where is this hanging out, and were they hacked?

EmailGate and the Mystery of the Missing GAMMA
Hillary Clinton’s 'unclassified' email included highly classified NSA information—why didn’t the FBI mention this fact?
John R. Schindler
09/06/16

Last week’s Federal Bureau of Investigation release of materials relating to their investigation of Hillary Clinton has reignited the political firestorm surrounding EmailGate. How the Democratic nominee mishandled her emails while she was secretary of state is again front-page news, which is bad news for Hillary. Particularly because the FBI’s data dump demonstrates clearly that Clinton is either dumb or dishonest—and perhaps both.

(Snip)

Not to mention that, in terms of verbiage and format, Blumenthal’s email read exactly like classified NSA reporting, as anybody acquainted with our SIGINT would immediately recognize. As one veteran agency official told me back in January, Blumenthal’s email was NSA information with “at least 90 percent confidence.”

(Snip)

Somehow Sid Blumenthal—who in 2011 was not working for the U.S. government in any capacity and had not held security clearances in a decade—was reading above-top-secret NSA reports just hours after they appeared in tightly restricted GAMMA channels.

(Snip)

This is important because if Hillary Clinton becomes our next president—which at this point looks more likely than not—we can be certain that her trusty sidekick Sid Blumenthal will have an important role in her White House, no matter what his ostensible job title may be. The American public needs to know the full truth about EmailGate, especially regarding its compromise of highly classified information, before our fast-approaching election.

State rushed Clinton documents to Dems but withheld from Republicans

Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., blasted the State Department on Thursday for moving quickly to provide a requested email from Hillary Clinton's server to Democrats on the House Oversight Committee while stonewalling requests from Republicans and the public.

During a hearing about the agency's handling of Freedom of Information Act requests, Meadows questioned why the State Department handed over an email chain between Colin Powell and Clinton just five days after Rep. Elijah Cummings, the committee's top Democrat, and seven other minority members asked for it while ignoring a FOIA request for that same email since 2014.

"We try to the best of our ability to respond to committees of Congress," said Patrick Kennedy, undersecretary for management at the State Department, in defense of his agency's treatment of records requests.

"It is with unbelievable speed when it fits the narrative that you want to do," Meadows argued.Scissors-32x32.png

COLIN POWELL’S EMAIL TO HILLARY CASTS HER IN EVEN WORSE LIGHT

Democrats are touting an e-mail exchange between Colin Powell and Hillary Clinton as some sort of a defense of Clinton’s use of private email to conduct State Department business. However, Shannen Coffin at NRO shows that what Powell told Clinton actually makes her conduct even harder to defend.

Why? Because, as Coffin says, “the e-mail exchange confirms that Clinton was aware that her private server circumvented federal records laws from the very beginning of her tenure as secretary of state.”

Clinton was already well into setting up her private e-mail server when she communicated with Powell in late January 2009, a few days after taking office. According to the FBI, the “Clintonemail.com” domain had been registered for her use on January 13, 2009, and she had started transitioning to use of that email address during the same period. Thus, Clinton had already made the decision to use a private e-mail server before she discussed the matter with Powell.

Powell described for Clinton how and why he used private email. He wrote:

What I did was have a personal computer that was hooked up to a private phone line (sounds ancient). So I could communicate with a wide range of friends directly without it going through the State Department servers.

Powell added that he also used his private account “to do business with some foreign leaders and some of the senior folks in the Department on their personal email accounts.”

Clinton IT aide pleads Fifth, skips hearing

The former State Department employee who set up Hillary Clinton’s private email server did not appear before the House Oversight Committee on Tuesday morning despite a subpoena to testify on the deletion of some of Clinton’s emails.

Bryan Pagliano exercised his Fifth Amendment right not to testify against himself before the House Select Committee on Benghazi in 2015. He was also reportedly awarded an immunity deal during the FBI’s now-closed investigation into Clinton’s use of the server while secretary of State.

“It’s a serious matter. Mr. Pagliano has chosen to evade a subpoena duly issued by the committee. I will consult with counsel and my colleagues to consider a full range of options available to address Mr. Pagliano’s failure to appear,” Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) said.

“He should be here. When you are served a subpoena by the United States Congress, that is not optional,” he said.

Rep. John Mica (R-Fla.) suggested that contempt of Congress could be an option for the committee. Scissors-32x32.png

Employee Who Used BleachBit to Wipe Clinton's Server Pleads the Fifth

Platte River Networks employee Paul Combetta, the person who wiped Hillary Clinton's private server and email archive with BleachBit, plead the Fifth Tuesday and refused to testify in front of the House Oversight Committee.

"On advise of counsel I respectfully decline to answer and assert my Fifth Amendment privilege," Combetta said.

Platte River Networks is the company employed by Clinton to host her private email servers and email accounts during her time at the State Department.

According to the timing presented FBI report on the criminal investigation into the servers, Combetta wiped the server with BleachBit four weeks after the investigation started and two weeks after Congress requested all emails be preserved. Combetta has also been accused of wiping the server while under subpoena. Scissors-32x32.png

Clinton email server attacked with ‘some frequency’ by brute force hackers

Cyber intruders attempted “brute force” hacking attempts against Hillary Clinton’s email server with “some frequency,” the man who set up and helped maintained the system told Congress on Tuesday.

Justin Cooper said he was paid by both the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton family itself and he helped manage the email accounts, though he said Bryan Pagliano, who worked for the State Department, was responsible for the main operations.

Mr. Pagliano refused to appear to testify and two other contractors involved in handling Mrs. Clinton’s electronics cited their Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination but Mr. Cooper did testify, telling the House Oversight Committee that they regularly faced hacking attempts, which picked up particularly in the last two and a half years that Mrs. Clinton was State Department secretary.Scissors-32x32.png

Judge blasts State Department for slow-walking Hillary Clinton’s emails

A federal judge blasted the Obama administration for slow-walking the release of some of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails, saying in court Monday that the government appears to be withholding information from voters ahead of the election.

U.S. District Judge Richard Leon said the State Department in not “being all that cooperative,” and told the Justice Department lawyers to get the State Department to shape up and do its duty.

“Get with the program, so to speak, so that the people of this country can have the information they need,” he ordered. “The State Department needs to start cooperating to the fullest extent possible. They are not perceived to be doing that.”

Judge Leon, who has earned a reputation as a funny but caustic jurist, particularly when he finds government bungling, said the Justice Department, by not forcing the State Department to cooperate better, is risking its own storied reputation.Scissors-32x32.png

Judge Orders Release of Clinton Security Training Docs To Begin In Five Days

A frustrated federal judge ordered the State Department to begin producing within five days hundreds of documents on whether required or recommended security training, briefings or courses were completed by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her top aides.

Judge Richard Leon ruled Tuesday in favor of The Daily Caller News Foundation by rejecting the State Department’s motion to dismiss TheDCNF’s Freedom of Information Act lawsuit concerning production of the documents originally sought under the Freedom of Information Act. But he also denied TheDCNF’s request to depose State Department officials.

The State Department has been unable to produce any records confirming that Clinton and her top aides received mandatory annual security briefings about the proper handling of classified materials and the proper methods for conducting secure communications.

In addition to Clinton, TheDCNF seeks the same records for former Clinton Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin and Advisor Jacob Sullivan.Scissors-32x32.png

IBD: Clinton Email Scandal: New Revelations Of Cover-Up Spell Trouble For Hillary
9/22/16

No doubt, Hillary Clinton and her avid supporters had hoped the email scandal that has plagued her all year was finally beginning to die down. No such luck. Polls show Americans still care about it — and it remains a major issue in her campaign.

The most recent revelation to show the duplicity and outright lying of Clinton about the email scandal was the discovery that her outside tech specialist, Paul Combetta of Platte River Networks, sought in July 2014 help on the Reddit forum to delete email addresses from the files of a "very VIP" client before shipping them to others. Combetta used the screen name "stonetear," a name he had foolishly used elsewhere on the web, so it was directly traceable to him.

The Last Refuge blog summed it up this way: "These records, as a consequence of their ownership by Secretary Clinton, are federal records. In essence, Paul Combetta, a private citizen, was seeking assistance on a public forum for how to modify federal records before export to an unknown entity (presumably Cheryl Mills)." (Cheryl Mills served as Hillary Clinton's counselor and chief of staff at the State Department, and, not surprisingly, also worked with the Clinton Foundation).

Altering archived government records is against the law. When Combetta, aka stonetear, discovered he had been found out, he immediately began scrubbing websites of his comments. Too late, it seems. Rep. Jason Chaffetz has sent a notice to Reddit to preserve all the comments and postings. And now Combetta is scheduled to be questioned by House Science Committee Chairman Lamar Smith, along with Platte River Networks.

Top Clinton Aide and Attorney Cheryl Mills Granted Immunity When FBI Wanted to Search Her Computer

investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server, top Clinton aide and attorney Cheryl Mills was granted partial immunity in exchange for information according to a new report from POLITICO:

Top Hillary Clinton aide Cheryl Mills received an immunity deal from the Justice Department in the FBI’s investigation into the former secretary of state’s email server, House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) said Friday.

"This is beyond explanation. The FBI was handing out immunity agreements like candy,” Chaffetz said in a statement. “I've lost confidence in this investigation and I question the genuine effort in which it was carried out. Immunity deals should not be a requirement for cooperating with the FBI." Scissors-32x32.png

State Department reveals FBI uncovered 2,800 emails Clinton never turned over

The State Department said Friday it likely has more than 2,800 new emails former Secretary Hillary Clinton never turned over but were recovered by the FBI, and will begin releasing them in batches beginning next month.

But only a small percentage will be processed before the election, the department said in court, arguing its resources are stretched too thin to get them done.

All told, the FBI turned over 15,171 emails it recovered that involved Mrs. Clinton, and of those about 60 percent have been deemed purely personal. That leaves some 5,600 that are work-related, but based on a sample of data, nearly half of those are duplicates, leaving the 2,800 or so that are new.

Of those, the department was ordered to process 350 pages by Oct. 7, another 350 by Oct. 21 and a third set of 350 pages by Nov. 4 — the final set before the election. Processing means the department will review them and determine what parts can be released, if any. It does not mean the public will see that many pages released.

Indeed, at most the department will produce only 10 percent of the new documents before the election.

GOP-led House panel finds former Clinton aide in contempt
By MATTHEW DALY
Sep. 22, 2016

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Republican-led House committee voted on Thursday to hold in contempt of Congress a former State Department employee who helped set up Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's private email server. The employee's lawyer accused the panel of a "naked political agenda."

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee approved the contempt resolution on a 19-15 party-line vote. The resolution states that Bryan Pagliano, the computer specialist tasked with establishing Clinton's server while she was secretary of state, did not comply with two subpoenas ordering him to appear before the panel.

Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland, the panel's senior Democrat, bemoaned the spectacle, calling it "a blatantly partisan Republican attack on the Democratic candidate for president."

Obama used a pseudonym in emails with Clinton, FBI documents reveal
Josh Gerstein and Nolan D. McCaskill
09/23/16

President Barack Obama used a pseudonym in email communications with Hillary Clinton and others, according to FBI records made public Friday.

The disclosure came as the FBI released its second batch of documents from its investigation into Clinton’s private email server during her tenure as secretary of state.

The 189 pages the bureau released includes interviews with some of Clinton’s closest aides, such as Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills; senior State Department officials; and even Marcel Lazar, better known as the Romanian hacker “Guccifer.”

In an April 5, 2016 interview with the FBI, Abedin was shown an email exchange between Clinton and Obama, but the longtime Clinton aide did not recognize the name of the sender.

"Once informed that the sender's name is believed to be pseudonym used by the president, Abedin exclaimed: 'How is this not classified?'" the report says. "Abedin then expressed her amazement at the president's use of a pseudonym and asked if she could have a copy of the email."

The Immunized Five: Meet The People Covering For Hillary

The Justice Department has granted immunity to a grand total of five individuals involved in the Hillary Clinton email scandal.

On Friday, the FBI, in response to a subpoena, gave the House Oversight Committee information about immunity agreements reached as part of the Clinton email investigation. The list included a total of five names, including two Clinton attorneys.

Here are their histories and their roles in the never-ending Clinton email fracas.

Cheryl Mills

Hillary Clinton’s State Department chief of staff who currently works as her personal attorney. Mills entered the Clinton orbit as a lawyer in the Bill Clinton White House.

According to Politico, Mills was granted immunity after her April 9 interview with the FBI. Beth Wilkinson, her attorney, said that the immunity arrangement covered only information recovered from the laptop computer she used in 2014 to conduct a review of Clinton’s emails before they were given to the State Department.Scissors-32x32.png
