Mark Davis: How could I support Trump? Two words: Hillary Clinton

Something truly remarkable is happening when staunch liberals join some of my fellow conservatives in asking me the very same question: "How can you possibly support Donald Trump?"

So for their benefit, and to aid anyone peppered with the same question, here is my thoroughly uncomplicated answer

Unlike the millions of Americans who have been aboard the Trump train since it left the station, I was originally a natural supporter of Ted Cruz.

 

His was the consistent, unapologetic conservatism that was my first wish as an antidote to the Obama years.

 

The simple fact is that I did not have enough company. Nor did followers of Marco Rubio, John Kasich or any of the other rivals left in the dust of the primary battles.

 

So a simple fact yields a simple question: What do I do now? The answer could not be more clear. I will work tirelessly to prevent the presidency of Hillary Clinton.
