President Barack Obama’s policies may not be working out for the average American, but they’re terrific for labor bosses.

Obama’s National Labor Relations Board and staunchly pro-union Labor Secretary Tom Perez have tilted the field for union organizers whose compensation clashes with their appeals to worker solidarity. Across the country, thousands of union officers and employees are paid six figures each year.

448 labor union officers and employees were paid $250,000 or more in 2015.

Using the president’s definition of millionaire — anyone with $250,000 in annual income — hundreds of union executives are millionaires. Workers’ dues pay for union officer and employee salaries and other compensation.

Excluding professional athletes’ unions, 448 union officers and employees were paid $250,000 or more last year. Of those union officials, 199 were paid more than $300,000, 55 were paid more than $400,000, and 18 were paid more than $500,000.

In Washington, D.C., and the 24 states without right-to-work laws, workers can be forced to pay a union in order to have a job. For many Americans, this means paying tribute to aggressively left-wing union officials with incomes ten or twenty times greater than their own.Scissors-32x32.png
