2585273Washington Examiner:

Donald Trump notched three more key victories Tuesday, taking Michigan, Mississippi and Hawaii to maintain his position as the clear front-runner in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas also remained in the hunt for the GOP nod. He picked up delegates with a strong victory in Idaho over Trump, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, and adding to his case that he is best positioned to block the New York celebrity businessman from the nomination.

Trump dominated states viewed as fertile ground for rivals, Cruz and Kasich, a potential blow to their hopes of blunting Trump's momentum. The real estate mogul and reality television star was projected the winner of Mississippi, cementing his hold on the Deep South that had once been considered Cruz's firewall. Trump also was projected the victor in Michigan, a midwestern state that was supposed to be strong for Kasich.Scissors-32x32.png

The political problem, more visible at some times than at others, is how to get consent to wise decisions or wise leadership. In a democracy this means how to educate, how to form the characters of citizens so that they will give their consent to wise leadership and withhold it from fools, bigots, and demagogues.

It has been the fortunate experience of American politics that while demagogues have appeared on the political stage, they have not generally prospered. . .
