WestVirginiaRebel
Washington Examiner: The House Ethics Committee announced it is investigating Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., over his involvement in a hedge fund, a possible violation of the House rules. The panel issued a short statement Monday acknowledging the investigation and announcing it would extend it until at least April 5. The issue was referred to House ethics by an independent watchdog group appointed by Congress to oversee lawmakers. The House panel noted, as it always does, that the extension of the investigation "does not indicate that any violation has occurred." Grayson is running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by GOP presidential candidate Marco Rubio. Grayson has come under fire in recent months after news stories revealed he manages a hedge fund named after him. The New York Times reported his hedge fund "at times interfered with his other duties" and that he worked to attract investors by promoting his role as a member of Congress. This month, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., issued a statement calling on Grayson to drop out of the Senate race, saying his actions, "disgrace the halls of Congress." ________ Bit late for that, since Harry's already there...
