SrWoodchuck
Donald Trump has the potential to be the second worse person to ever be put in charge of our fate. From a communist socialist left wing ideologue narcissistic megalomaniac to a megalomaniac with an ego that leaves no room for thinking before one speaks. Is he the Trojan Horse. Is he the wolf in sheep's clothing? Yes, I know we are angry at what is happening in America but have the majority taken leave of their senses? I know some are just desperate to go with anyone whom they believe will beat the Dems but this is not an episode of the Apprentice or a beauty contest. I also think many are afraid Trump will go 3rd party and again assure we lose. Just as I think I could be ok with Trump (and don't get me wrong - I will vote for him if he is the nominee ) he sends out another thoughtless and unnecessarily nasty zinger against his opponents. He sounds like a petulant spoiled child. @righteousmomma - We always talk about Dems voting for anyone, no matter what their reputation is, as long as they are Dems. I will not do that. I won't vote for someone that I think does not have the character (putting aside that fact that I really do not think that he is really a Republican) simply because he is running with an R after his name. I hate to sound like some of the FR Romney people, but I will not vote for President if Trump is the nominee. I see a real difference between the situations. Romney was leaps above Obama in the character category. I see no difference in character OR policy between Trump and Hillary. Why no one is bringing up the many many things about Trumps past, I haven't a clue. It reminds me of the MSM not bringing up the many things about Obamas past Sweet @Geee! Like this? The think piece says, yes, Trump is a boor and a buffoon. But we need to listen to what his supporters are saying. I’m . . . not so sure about that. Also had 47 deferments to avoid military service. But Ted Cruz is a or something. Trump, he big strongman! Roar! Donald Trump called Republican rival Ted Cruz a “ ” Monday, during a address to large crowd at a rally on the eve of the New Hampshire primary. The nasty slur came as the billionaire businessman was discussing how he supported waterboarding, and insisted that Cruz didn’t. One woman in the crowd yelled out the insult and Trump repeated it. “She just said a terrible thing,” Trump said sarcastically. “OK, you’re not allowed to say — and I never expect to hear that from you again… She said,
Draggingtree
Where’s The Media Orgasm Over Ted Cruz’s Showing? By Erick Erickson | February 10, 2016 When Marco Rubio finished third in Iowa, after spending a ton of money, the media could not contain itself. It was like their chairs were vibrating on election night. The gasps and sweaty palms and yells of “Marco” overwhelmed and dominated all other coverage. In fact, subsequent to Rubio’s Iowa loss, news networks covered how the news networks covered Rubio. In New Hampshire last night, having spent less money than any other candidate, Ted Cruz came in third when the polling averages had Cruz in fourth place and some individual polls had him in a worse position. Draggingtree
FEBRUARY 4, 2016 12:01 PM Can the Koch Brothers Stop Trump? “Everything is on the table,” says one source. That includes sitting out 2016. BY · DANIEL SCHULMAN “You’d think we could have more influence,” Charles Koch told the F.T. last month over pulled-pork sandwiches at the staff commissary of Koch Industries in Wichita, Kansas. The wealthy industrialist and conservative impresario was giving a rare interview in support of his new book, but his disillusionment with the state of the Republican presidential race (and politics in general) was apparent. In 2012, he and his younger brother, David Koch, raised approximately $400 million through their donor network with the primary goal of electing Mitt Romney—only to be outmaneuvered in the end byBarack Obama’s campaign. During the intervening years, the Kochs’ political operatives studied what had gone wrong in 2012 and redoubled their efforts to ensure that the same fate would not befall them again. By the start of the 2016 election cycle, the brothers and their allies had pledged to raise nearly $900 million to elect Republicans, particularly whomever ends up facing Hillary Clinton—or, perhaps, Bernie Sanders—in the general election. But things don't seem to be working out as smoothly as planned. righteousmomma
It must be really hard for all of you who find articles for the news thread to find anything favorable about Ted Cruz. The opinions under negative articles on Cruz I am running across are quite interesting: "Cruz is creepy" (#!), Cruz is scary (Close #2), "Cruz received endorsement of extremist pastor and should disavow his endorsement" ---yada yada yada "Cruz thinks he is God - scary", Rafael (Cruz's father) gets just as bad if not worse coverage.
