Valin
1937: English author J.R.R. Tolkien fantasy adventure The Hobbit is published to wide critical acclaim, setting the stage for its equally popular sequel. An epic quest tale set in Tolkien’s “Middle Earth” world and informed by the author’s wide background in language and mythology, the book followed the adventures of hobbit Bilbo Baggins on quest for a share of a vast treasure of gold hidden in a distant mountain and guarded by an evil dragon. The book’s success led to the even more ambitious and sprawling The Lord of the Rings, first published in 1954, with subsequent editions of The Hobbit adjusted to match the storylines. Nearly eight decades later the book has never been out of print. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-1OG8XKIT4
