The “Black Lives Matter” left has a new poster child. She is Dajerria Becton.

Becton was part of a group of African-American teenagers involved in a confrontation with the police that stemmed from a pool party in McKinney, Texas. A police officer, Eric Casebolt, forcibly subdued her, driving her face into the ground and his knee into her back and, she says, pulling on her braids.

Casebolt also drew his gun after several African-American males moved towards him while he was subduing Becton. The incident and portions of the larger confrontation were recorded on a cell phone video (posted below).

When a police officer uses physical force against a teenage girl and draws a gun on the unarmed, the matter is serious. That’s why Casebolt has been placed on leave, with pay, while his actions are investigated.

When viewed in context, however, did Casebolt act improperly?

First, let’s describe the context. Casebolt was responding to citizens complaining that a group of unruly teenagers crashed their pool party. The situation was bad enough that a fight had broken out.

Not That It Matters To A Certain Group Of People, but I don't See Where The Cops Did Anything Wrong.

We are rapidly getting to the point police will be afraid to act when needed. This will certainly increase harm to the innocent and potentially to the cops. It also is quickly becoming a method a certain group is using to empower themselves to be able to cause havoc.

McKinney Overreactions Hinder Quest to Fight Real Racism

Mark Davis

Jun 10, 2015

One of the most unfortunate by-products of the McKinney, Texas, pool party aftermath is the lost opportunity for a constructive evaluation of police performance.

The now-infamous video says vastly different things to different people, but one thing stands out as a resounding majority view: Something went very wrong as an already tense situation was exacerbated by the language and behaviors of one police officer, Eric Casebolt, who resigned Tuesday.

So we are left to evaluate the reactions that led up this, which have ranged from measured to presumptuous to downright reckless.

In the era of Ferguson and Baltimore and the fraudulent narratives of hands up, dont shoot, we are descending into an abyss where thoughtful, objective assessment of police actions is nearly extinct. How many milliseconds did it take before the first race-baiters rushed to affix the McKinney pool party story to a legacy of lynchings and Jim Crow?

Words Of Wisdom

Just Shut Up Already
Derek Hunter

It’s pretty simple: When dealing with a police officer, don’t be a jackass.

But as easy as it seems, behaving like a decent human being appears to be a bridge too far for a seemingly ever-growing number of Americans these days. The infamous pool party in Texas is but the latest example of people being idiots and displaying obnoxious, disrespectful and dangerous behavior toward police. And it’s going to get much worse before it gets any better.

This isn’t happening in a vacuum. It’s not occurring in nature. It’s a deliberate and manipulated attitude shift by self-described “social justice warriors” who thrive off the misery they help create.

It’s also being fostered by the media, seeking viewers by manufacturing outrage through bald-faced lies and half-truths.

Back in my youth I loved it when someone played the attitude game.
