Greg Abbott affirmed his strong support Tuesday for significant property tax cuts for Texas taxpayers. In a State of the State speech before a joint session of the Legislature, his first major policy speech, Abbott said his proposed budget calls for a $2.2 billion cut in property taxes and a $2 billion reduction in business franchise taxes.
