Valin
Via Meadia: Feb 10, 2015 A German judge ruled this week that the July firebombing of a synagogue in Wuppertal was not anti-Semitic but rather an “act of protest” meant to bring attention to the Gaza conflict, which carried a lesser charge. (h/t Jamie Kirchick.) The daily lives of Jews in Europe, and Germany in particular, have been getting more dangerous for some time, but this is a particularly offensive example of how reluctant Europeans can be to acknowledge the obvious: Their Jewish neighbors are under attack simply for being Jews. We should not need to say this, but there is a world of difference between protesting at the Israeli embassy and firebombing a German synagogue. If this isn’t a textbook example of anti-Semitism, we don’t know what is. The attackers took out their rage on innocent targets for no reason other than their religion and ethnicity, which the German Jews happened to share with citizens of an entirely different nation. Pepper
@Valin "But rather an “act of protest” Grand Imam Obama: "Randomly shoot of a bunch of folks in a deli" They clearly went to the same school.
Valin
@Pepper Obama tries to walk it back Josh Earnest@PressSec Our view has not changed. Terror attack at Paris Kosher market was motivated by anti-Semitism. POTUS didn't intend to suggest otherwise. 3:30 PM - 10 Feb 2015
