Pair of attacks in France raises alarms; government cautions against conclusions

PARIS (AP) — French officials called for vigilance but warned against jumping to conclusions Monday after a pair of weekend attacks — one in which a driver ran down 13 bystanders, and another in which a recent convert to Islam knifed police officers.

 

The driver, who had a history of psychological problems, was arrested following the attack in Dijon, while the assailant who stabbed the officers outside the city of Tours was shot to death by police. None of the victims died.

 

French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said Monday that the investigation in Dijon is just beginning "and the motives are unclear." But his visit to the city was an indication of the government's heightened concerns days after Islamic extremists renewed calls for individuals to strike in the West.

 

Police union official Michel Bonnet told BFM television that some witnesses heard the driver say "Allah is great."

France steps ups security on streets after three lone wolf terror attacks

 

BRITISH security forces have issued warnings to owners of shopping centres and other commercial venues about the threat of terrorists using cars as weapons in the wake of hit-and-run attacks in France.

 

The French Government today ordered an extra 300 military personnel on to the streets to step up security following three terrorist attacks in three days.

 

The three attacks were unrelated but up to 800 soldiers were already deployed amid fears of further Islamic extremists being inspired to attack.

 

On Monday a man drove his van into a crowded market place in the Loire River city of Nante in west France killing one and injuring nine, a day after 13 people were injured when a man shouting Allahu Akbar (God is Great) drove his van into pedestrians in the city of Dijon in eastern France and a man was shot dead after stabbing three police officers in the central eastern city of Tours.

 

France has warned its citizens of the enemy within and the likelihood of further strikes over the Christmas-New Year holiday period.

I read a column by Carol Brown the other day. She said the problem is NOT "radical Islam", it is just Islam, period.

No Idea who she is (Link?)...but given there are right around 1.5 Billion followers of Islam, and the vast majority of deaths in this war are in fact Muslims killed by the Jihadists, the question is...What Do You Want To Do?

No Idea who she is (Link?)...but given there are right around 1.5 Billion followers of Islam, and the vast majority of deaths in this war are in fact Muslims killed by the Jihadists, the question is...What Do You Want To Do?

Stop construction of mosques and shut down most of those already built: Mosques are popping up all across America, with a 75% increase in new construction since 9/11. There are now well over 2,000 mosques in America (some of them “mega mosques”) with no end in sight. Two separate studies document that 80% of mosques in the United States preach jihad. That number is staggering. The situation is intolerable. It pushes the limit of freedom of religion and freedom of speech. A nation cannot endure direct threats against it if it hopes to survive.

 

Shut down Islamic schools and get Islam out of public school classrooms: We cannot allow Islamic schools to indoctrinate the next generation of Muslim Americans, where students are taught Islamic dominance, forced conversions, death to non-believers, and the destruction of Israel. This is not a reflection of American values and serves as a direct threat to our future. If Muslim Americans want their children to attend such schools, the family should relocate to an Islamic country. We must also remove Islamic propaganda from our public schools, private schools, college and universities. And while we’re on the subject, Muslim colleges are blossoming. The most prominent (Zaytuna College) opened five years ago in Berkeley, California. But there have been others, including the Islamic Online University. At the very least, these institutions must be monitored.

 

 

 

Given there is a 1st amendment the question remain.....How Particularly #1 Right out of Robert Spencer....and that's not a good thing.
