WestVirginiaRebel
CBS Chicago: (CBS) – The teenage son of Mayor Rahm Emanuel was the victim of a robbery outside the mayor’s Lakeview home Friday night, a spokesperson from the mayor’s office confirms. Police were called to the 4200 block of North Hermitage at 10:05 p.m. Friday for a report of a robbery on the street where there would normally already be a police presence. Emanuel’s 17-year-old son went out to make a phone call when he was jumped by two men who stole the teen’s cell phone. A police report obtained by the Chicago Tribune says that he was put in a chokehold by one of the suspects and punched in the face by the other. Emanuel reportedly suffered a fat lip and chipped tooth. Emanuel’s spokesperson Kelley Quinn released a statement saying, “Yesterday evening Mayor Emanuel’s son Zach was assaulted in a robbery during which his phone was stolen. He sustained injuries that required medical treatment, but was able to join the family for a long planned trip. The Mayor’s focus is on his son’s well-being, and as parents, he and Amy ask that the media respect their family’s privacy at this time.” Police officers are assigned to the mayor’s home front and back 24 hours a day. There are also cameras at both ends of the block. ________ In contrast to Bill De Blasio's son, Rhambo's son wants to feel safe...
RandyM
Well, it IS Chicago after all... Police officers assigned to the front and back of the home 24 hours a day? Was this before or after the robbery? If before, I'd say someone needs remedial training.

Valin
Why did he have to go outside to make a phone call? Very good point. Regardless, a person should be able to go outside at night without getting robbed.
