Valin
Shot In the Dark: Mitch Berg December 18, 2014 A colleague from long ago writes: I just found out that the school my children attend has stopped the student council fundraising event for the Giving Tree. The event is a cookies and cocoa Christmas sale that allows the kids to have fun buying cookies for themselves and for other students, all in the spirit of the season, and all for the spirit of giving to children who may not have a very pleasant Christmas. The reason? Wait for it..wait for it. It doesnt meet Michelles limits on sugar in school foods. So, no fundraiser for the elementary school, and pickles for the high school (why pickles, I dont know. Why not carrots or Bok Choy?) Im hoping that some day parents will realize just how much we are being controlled. I remember when school was about reading, writing and arithmetic. Not any more.
